Sanj is the Chief Executive of international disaster relief charity, ShelterBox. Before joining the ShelterBox Team in December 2019, he worked at the International Rescue Committee for 10 years where he was Senior Vice President for Europe. Sanj has been leading teams in adversity over the last two decades; from peacekeeping operations on the Iran-Iraq border, to responding to Ebola outbreaks in Liberia first-hand experience of humanitarian work.
Prior to working at the IRC, Sanj worked for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), after transitioning from a career spending 6 years as a Captain in the British Army. He holds as Master of Public Administration from Columbia University, and a Master of Public Affairs from Sciences-Po, Paris. Sanj lives near the ShelterBox headquarters in Truro, Cornwall and is fond of cold water swimming and surfing, both of which he has found in Cornwall!
