These two products solve fundamentally different problems, yet both appear in searches for vehicle utility. One is an internal cargo organizer designed for mobility and storage capacity, while the other is an exterior cosmetic and structural component meant to restore factory aesthetics. Confusing the two would be a costly mistake. The IceFun bar is built for drivers who carry soft goods and need a secure hanging space inside the cabin, whereas the Mithducks kit is strictly for owners of specific older SUVs needing to replace damaged body panels. I have analyzed the specifications, materials, and intended applications of both items to help you decide which one belongs in your garage or on your shopping list.
• IceFun Extra-Long Heavy-Duty Car: Its biggest strength is the telescoping 28-to-73-inch design that accommodates everything from sedans to large trucks with a 70-pound load capacity; its trade-off is that it is exclusively an interior accessory and requires specific handle spacing to install.
• Mithducks Roof Rack ABS: Its biggest strength is being a direct OE-spec replacement for Toyota RAV4 models between 2006 and 2012, restoring the look and function of roof rails without custom fabrication; its trade-off is zero compatibility outside that specific make, model, and year range.
• Who each pick is for: Choose IceFun for mobile wardrobe organization in any large vehicle; choose Mithducks only if you own a pre-2013 RAV4 with damaged roof rail ends.
This product is engineered for the driver who treats their vehicle as a mobile workspace or a temporary home, particularly those engaged in long haul trucking where carrying multiple outfits or uniforms is essential. The core value proposition lies in its ability to expand from 28 inches to a massive 73 inches. This four-section telescoping design allows it to fit snugly across the handles of compact cars, full-size SUVs, and even large pickup trucks. If you drive a vehicle with wide door frames, this bar bridges the gap effectively, turning empty overhead space into a functional closet.
The construction focuses heavily on stability and weight management. This is not a flimsy plastic rod; it is designed to hold the weight of wet jackets, heavy work shirts, or travel luggage without bending. The inclusion of eight non-slip garment rings adds a layer of organizational logic that prevents clothes from sliding together and creasing. For someone who needs to arrive at a destination looking crisp rather than rumpled, this feature alone justifies the purchase. The anti-skid system, featuring EVA pads and hook-and-loop straps, ensures the bar does not shift during sharp turns or bumpy roads, providing peace of mind for the driver.

Installation is designed for immediate use without mechanical expertise. There are no tools required. You simply select the combination mode that fits your vehicle's interior width, hand-tighten the sections, and secure it between the handles. This tool-free setup means you can deploy the rack in under a minute, making it ideal for daily commutes or quick stops where time is of the essence. However, this product is not for everyone. If you do not have accessible handles in your vehicle or if you are looking for an exterior modification, this is not the right choice. It is purely an interior utility item focused on keeping your garments wrinkle-free and organized.
In stark contrast, the Mithducks Roof Rack ABS serves a very narrow but critical purpose: restoration. This is not a universal cargo carrier or an add-on accessory; it is a replacement part for a specific vehicle architecture. The product is designed exclusively for the Toyota RAV4 models manufactured between 2006 and 2012. If your vehicle falls outside this window or brand, this item will not fit, regardless of how much you might need a roof rack. The primary function here is to address wear and damage to the existing roof rail system. Over time, the original end caps or "noshells" can crack, fade, or break off, leaving the vehicle looking incomplete and potentially exposing the underlying structure to elements.
The material composition is specified as ABS, a durable polymer known for its toughness and resistance to impact. The kit includes polished components designed to match the original equipment specifications (OE# Z106589040601G). The goal is to provide an orderly transition that aligns perfectly with nearby body surfaces. When installed, the shaped body section follows the contours of the car, ensuring a consistent installed appearance that mimics the factory finish. This is crucial for maintaining the resale value and aesthetic integrity of the SUV. It helps restore entry, visibility, and protection functions that may have been compromised by previous damage.
Installation relies on the mounting layout provided by the manufacturer to align the new parts with the existing body surfaces. It is a direct fit replacement, meaning it is meant to slot into place where the old, damaged parts used to be. This eliminates the need for drilling, cutting, or complex fabrication. However, the limitation is absolute: this is not a universal part. It does not adapt to other makes or models. If you have a newer RAV4 or a Honda CR-V, this product offers zero utility. It is a targeted repair solution for a specific generation of Toyota SUV, focusing on cosmetic repair and structural reinforcement of the roof line rather than adding new cargo capacity.

If I were preparing for a long-haul trucking trip where I needed to keep my work uniforms crisp and organized without taking up floor space, I would buy the IceFun Extra-Long Heavy-Duty Car immediately. It solves a real problem: how to transport clothes without crushing them. Conversely, if I owned a 2008 Toyota RAV4 with cracked roof rail ends, I would grab the Mithducks set because nothing else on the market addresses that specific cosmetic failure better. In my opinion, the IceFun bar offers broader value for the average driver seeking convenience, while the Mithducks kit is a specialized fix for a specific owner. For long haul trucking specifically, the IceFun bar is the clear winner due to its capacity and adaptability.
No, it is not universal in that sense. It fits vehicles with handles spaced between 28 and 73 inches, covering most large vehicles, SUVs, and trucks, but you must verify your interior handle spacing before buying.
No, this product is explicitly designed for the 2006 through 2012 model years. It will not fit newer generations of the RAV4 or any other vehicle brand.
The design includes EVA pads and a dual anti-slip system specifically engineered to protect your car's handles from scratches and scuffs during installation and travel.
No, this is a replacement part for existing roof rail ends, not an add-on rack. It restores the original appearance and function but does not increase cargo capacity like a crossbar system would.
