Iced Coffee Drinks

While the term "iced coffee" is often used in reference to espresso, it is a more general term referring to a variety of drinks, notably coffee. They are prepared at coffee shops and cafes and serve as a substitute for regular coffee.

There are various flavours of these drinks, as well as sizes, depending on the shop or cafe. The official Iced Coffee Shop Drinks of the World Championships has five different flavours available.

Ice shot: a shot of espresso with ice added. Most people prefer this over the more traditional espresso-based drinks, as it is cheaper to buy and serves a number of purposes, most importantly it is served cold and makes it possible to have more than one shot without wasting any. It can also be served with a glass of milk to add a creamy taste.

Frapachino: A Frappachino is a slightly sweet drink with a lattice of ice and a few drops of cream. A frapachino can be prepared as a shot in a cup by serving it with ice and half a cup of milk or sugar, or as a coffee in a normal cup and half a cup of sugar.

Percolator: A Percolator is made from espresso beans. It is an Italian term and refers to the coffee maker that is extremely common in Italy. It produces a warm cup of espresso when added with hot water and makes it possible to make several cups of coffee in a single pot.

Cafe de jouge: The cafe de jouge is simply a very strong coffee drink. In most cafes, this would generally be served in a round tin or a white mug in which the drink sits on top, either atop the metal table or on a small tray in front of the customer. This drink is served as an alternativeto espresso, being strong and having the robust taste of espresso.

Chicane: A Chicane is a weaker version of a Chicane which is called a Quick Chicane. It has more caffeine and less sweetness. Most companies only produce this type of drink in a limited quantity, which makes it difficult to find and is normally associated with Costa Coffee.

Espresso espressos: These are generally an espresso drink but contain coffee rather than espresso. The brand E & C Espresso offer a range of iced drinks with different flavours. You can get a cup of lemon flavored Espresso, a blend of white wine, vanilla and chocolate and a cappuccino which are lighter than normal coffee.

Freddo: This is a very popular drink that is not a traditional espresso. Rather, it is made by adding a little milk and cream to a cup of hot espresso and garnishing it with sugar. It is served as a beverage, but also served as a dessert at bars and cafes.

Coffee in a Cup: coffee in a Cup is a coffee drink served in a specially designed coffee cup. They are usually served with both milk and sugar to provide a mixture of flavours.

Cafe Drinks will continue to be popular. People who enjoy a hot drink in the summer have several options from which to choose, while those who prefer more classic cafe drinks can use the flavours available to them to create an unusual flavour.
