Figure 1: augering sites to March 2018
After the the Creswellian and Federmesser cultures in the present-day East Midlands came the Younger Dryas - a return to near-glacial conditions 11,500 years ago. During this time coversands were blown over the Farndon site. Our augering aims to delineate these coversands. The belief is coversands may overlie in situ flint deposits.
