Challenge 1: Meet Maurice!

Maurice first found out about Camp Elemental through one of the directors -promptly deciding to nickname him Wiceleyz- he agreed to join. It was the first one to join the camp and enjoys bringing together and expanding its ice cabin community by encouraging fun games like throwing ice at the infamous Wiceleyz :P. [Lissa] He later invited the rock cabin to camp as well, becoming good friends with Kor throughout the first few weeks of camp. [Ash]

When Maurice was younger it liked to play sports with its family, but as Maurice got older his parents signed him up for a multitude of different sports, where he was expected to do well in all of them. Having this pressure and knowing the cost it started to resent being thrown into the life of an athlete. He was on the verge of quitting when he reached out to his half sibling Cordelia, telling them how he'd been feeling. Over time it began to realize that there was a true sense of community within the sports scene and he made sure to find ways to be happy even with all the pressure. Although it took him a while to find this sense of belonging, once he did he was more than happy to keep up and try his best, knowing his teammates were right by his side.(Bee) Growing up was quite a cold ordeal for Maurice, with his family being more traditional they were strict and all business. It spent its childhood listening to classical music and attending dinner parties he did not care for, a rather black and white way of living. [Mikael] As Maurice grew older, he found warmth in the friendships he had with those around him, a contrast to the coldness of those whose company he was forced to endure, and so did his best to nurture those relationships, keeping their warmth close to his heart. (IDK) Even throughout his rough childhood, it still kept a close bond with his half-sibling, Cordelia, his only true friend for most of its young life.[Puppy]

During his educational years Maurice expanded its knowledge and and interests and found a plethora of hobbies to indulge in. Including Norse mythology; this interest led to him becoming skilled in many of the arts as the stories inspired him to craft larger than life pieces, especially out of ice.[Puppy] Maurice also loves to knit, crochet and cross stitch, especially when he’s creating gifts for his many friends. Although it sometimes finds these hobbies challenging due to its colourblindness.( Artsyatdawn) With Maurice suffering from colourblindness, and later a gluten allergy it made life a little more challenging on a day to day basis. Though it made Maurice put more effort into adding some extra fun into its life.[Ash] Even though Maurice is a pretty cool guy, literally meaning he’s always cold, that doesn't necessarily mean it likes to be; so all he really wants to do is cuddle up in fluffy blankets and warm sweaters or things he might have even crocheted itself. He loves it! [Louis] 

Through crocheting and the power of the internet Maurice made many close friends, who he would later find to be his fellow camp mates, Lux (sun), Aspen (plant) and Atlas (earth). The four were acquainted in a discord crochet server and grew closer once fully introduced at camp. Maurice found many familiar faces at camp to its surprise, such as Atlas who not only was a crochet buddy but was also Maurice’s fishing partner growing up at the lake house with Cordelia. As well as Lyn, his partner in chaos crime, and Calypso, it's art idol and cafe confidant. However, not all of its camp relationships started off so peachy. In high school, Maurice was on the football team and Aether was in the marching band. They continuously kept trying to one up each other, which led to a rivalry between them and ended with them drifting on different paths, losing contact. [Vilu] During its college years Maurice met Vuur who in turn reconnected it with Aether. Throughout their time together he ended up dating Vuur, and shortly after proposed a polyamorous relationship, after Aether and it grew inseparable.[Ayr]
