The Taiwan Technical Missionโs ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฆ ๐๐ง๐ก๐๐ง๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฃ๐๐๐ญ collaborated with St. Kitts and Nevisโs Behavioural Health and Wellness Centre (BHWC) to host the "Arts and Craft Expo." Staff, volunteers, and clients joined together in downtown Charlestown, Nevis, to display and sell unique handmade crafts.
The Taiwan Technical Missionโs ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฆ ๐๐ง๐ก๐๐ง๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฃ๐๐๐ญ collaborated with St. Kitts and Nevisโs Behavioural Health and Wellness Centre (BHWC) to host the "Arts and Craft Expo." Staff, volunteers, and clients joined together in downtown Charlestown, Nevis, to display and sell unique handmade crafts.
As part of BHWCโs series of events honoring WHO World Mental Health Month, this initiative aims to integrate mental health awareness into everyday life. The artworks on display were created during occupational therapy sessions guided by dedicated staff. From wind chimes crafted with local island elements like shells and coconut shells๐ฅฅ๐, to creative stress balls made of flour and balloons๐, and brightly painted animal sculptures๐ข, every single piece was unique and full of creativity.
The event also featured an interactive Quiz with prizes๐๐พโโ๏ธ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ, We invited people passing by to take part in a mental health quiz, addressing common mental health myths. Many participants were surprised to learn how much the facts differed from their preconceptions, creating a meaningful opportunity to enhance mental health literacy and reduce stigma.
Stepping into the community alongside our clients gave residents a compelling reason to stop and connect. Through these handmade creations, curiosity was transformed into understanding, showing everyone that before art and creativity, we were not so different after all. ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ค๐น๐ผ
