Workshop on Block6G: Intelligent, Scalable, and Efficient Blockchain for 6G Networking and Communications
Scope
Blockchain, an emerging disruptive technology, has drawn enormous attention in diverse application fields in the past few years due to its features such as decentralization, immutability, anonymity, and security. However, the development of blockchain technology has also experienced some challenges, including malicious behavior, poor scalability, inefficiency, low latency, etc. Artificial intelligence (AI) is an emerging paradigm in which entities and systems, that can bring new opportunities in overcoming the challenges of blockchains, spawning a new direction named Intelligent Blockchain. However, the researches on intelligent, scalable, and efficient blockchain still are in its infancy state with many problems to be solved. The sixth-generation (6G) wireless networks target to support diverse vertical applications by connecting heterogeneous devices and machines with ultra-large capacity, ultra-low latency, ultra-small distance communications, and high-precision communications. Despite all these advantages, there are still major challenges to be addressed, including network privacy and security vulnerabilities, decentralization, transparency, risks of data interoperability, etc. The combination of 6G and blockchain brings opportunities in overcoming the above challenges. Once blockchain technology becomes more scalable, secure and intelligent in the future, it will spark more blue-sky thinking and innovative ideas that can improve the future networking and communications to another level with a strong security guarantee.
