Scope of the Workshop
The rapid evolution toward next-generation wireless communication and sensing systems, such as 6G and beyond, face escalating demands for performance, efficiency, connectivity, coverage, and security. Traditional wireless technologies, while having fueled remarkable progress, are increasingly limited by classical limits, such as Shannon’s capacity, Moore's law, electromagnetic bounds, and thermodynamic limits. Meeting future requirements calls for fundamentally new paradigms that go beyond incremental improvements in conventional technologies. Quantum sensing technologies (QSTs) demonstrate unprecedented measurement sensitivity and resolution. The unique quantum effects not only enable ultra-high precision that surpasses classical physical limits, but also offer advantages such as robust anti-interference capabilities and calibration-free operation, thereby holding the potential to fundamentally overcome the performance bottlenecks of classical systems. Recently, QSTs have exhibited remarkable capabilities for wireless communication and sensing applications, making them attractive candidates for revolutionary advances in future wireless networks. By bridging fundamental quantum physics and practical communication engineering, these technologies offer a transformative pathway toward quantum-enhanced wireless systems.
