Welcome to the Instrumentation & Control Engineering Department of A.V.Parekh Technical Institute Rajkot. The Diploma Program in Instrumentation & Control Engineering was started in the year 1983. The Department has been accredited by NBA, New Delhi for a period of 3 years (2005 to 2008 and 2025  to 2028) and affiliated to Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad and approved by AICTE, New Delhi.

Instrumentation & Control Engineering mainly deals with Process Instrumentation, Electronics, Control system; Computer based Control of Process, Industrial Instrumentation, Programmable Logic Controllers, SCADAS, Distributed Control System, Analytical & Biomedical Instrumentation, Robotics & Automation and many more. The main role of an Instrumentation & Control Engineer is to design, develop, install, test/calibrate and maintain different types of instruments and control systems used in the process industries. The department has well qualified, experienced and committed staff members to improve and enhance the knowledge of the student community. The department is strengthened by its highly qualified faculty team, consisting of 10 members with a Master of Engineering degree, 1 faculty member with a Ph.D., and 2 faculty members presently pursuing their doctoral research. The faculty members have contributed appreciably to all the co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the college administration. The department has well-equipped laboratories for conducting various practical courses as prescribed by Gujarat Technological University. The department is provided with good supporting staff. The department conducts various hands-on workshops, Seminars, Expert Lectures, Training Programs, and Industrial visits for the students to update their technical knowledge. Faculty members are also encouraged and supported to participate in Seminars, Workshops, Faculty Development Programme/ Short Term Training Programme conducted by various reputed organizations.

Our graduating students have wide career opportunities in leading manufacturing and process industries such as fertilizer, sugar, cement, textile, food, chemical, petrochemical, paper, steel, oil, and natural gas sectors, among many others. The pass-out students also have enough opportunities for getting higher education (i.e. Diploma to Degree admission)   in highly reputed institutes and universities. Students are also motivated for startups through Student Startup and Innovation Policy of the Gujarat Government.
