Hello! Welcome to my website.
My name is Ibrahim, and I am a first-generation PhD student from Nigeria. I hold a bachelor's degree in surveying and geoinformatics from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria, with a first-class degree, graduating as the top student in my class with several honors and awards. I have also published articles in reputable journals and attended several workshops.
I am an emerging researcher specializing in space geodetic measurement methods and radar remote sensing techniques in hydrology, focusing strongly on coastal hazard monitoring. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. at Virginia Tech's Geosciences Department. I work within the Earth Observation and Innovation (EOI) Laboratory under Dr. Manoocherh Shirzaei.
My research is at the forefront of developing global probabilistic and machine learning models that quantify the present and future vertical land motion and relative sea level rise estimates. I also investigate the vulnerabilities of coastal communities and infrastructure, as well as the significant threats these phenomena pose. I am making meaningful contributions to this field by utilizing advanced Earth observation satellite data, including Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR), Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), and terrestrial data from tide gauge observations.
When I am not on my computer, I enjoy playing soccer and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy spending time in the kitchen.
I welcome collaborations that align with my research interests and am eager to engage with others who share my passion for this vital work.
