Dr. Zhen Zhu has been the Dr. Mickael Metzger Chair Professor of Economics at University of Central Oklahoma. He is also Managing Consultant with C.H. Guernsey and Company in Oklahoma City. Dr. Zhu is Adjunct Professor of Energy Finance at Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering at University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Zhu has taught many courses in statistical analysis, finance and economics. His research, in most recent years, has focused on energy economics and energy markets. He has published more than 60 academic journal and trade journal articles. His publications appeared in journals such as Energy, Energy Economics, Energy Journal, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Futures Markets, Public Utility Fortnightly, and many more.
Dr. Zhu consults regularly for business and government agencies. He has been cost of capital expert on utility rate cases before Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and several state public utility commissions. He has provided expert testimony on cost of capital, load forecast, statistical analysis, and natural gas prices on behalf of federal agencies such as US Department of Defense, Attorney General’s Office in Michigan and Oklahoma and several other consumer advocacy agencies.
