Pack up your book bags, it's time to head to the Museum. In order to exit the ROM safely, we must solve the clues. Put on your thinking hats and grab your notebooks, it is time to get excavating!

CLUE #1: These images represent the evolution of the human species. The images have been jumbled, so they are not in the correct chronological order. From left-to-right, place the names of the species with the correct image to determine the 5-digit code.

CLUE #3: Take a walk through the gallery of famous anthropologists. Find the bolded letters, and unscramble them for your clue.

Bronislaw Malinowski

Bronisław Malinowski is recognized as the founder of social anthropology. He is considered to be one of the most important anthropologists in the 20th century, and is associated with field studies of people in Oceania.

Charles Darwin

Charles Darwin is the founder of the evolutionary theory that suggests species survive through natural selection which is the idea that those species who successfully adapted and evolved were able to survive, and the rest died off. This idea was highly controversial at the time and still is today.

Margaret Mead

Margaret Mead was the curator of ethnography at the American Museum of Natural History. She later went on two trips to the South Pacific, where she wrote books about the effects of social convention on behaviour.

Jane Goodall

Jane Goodall was a pioneer for research on chimpanzees. Her research took place in Gombe Stream National Park in 1960 and was groundbreaking for teaching us about human connections to the animal kingdom.

Franz Boas

Franz Boas is thought to be the the Father of American Anthropology. He was notable for his work on cultural relativism and used his work in anthropology as a way to refute racism.

CLUE #5: Spotlight On: Margaret Mead

Margaret Mead was a famous cultural anthropologist. In the 1920s, Mead did extensive fieldwork in Samoa to study youth culture. In the 1930s, she did more fieldwork in Papua New Guinea within the Mountain Arapesh culture and social relationships between sexes.
