Ian Maupin is an Applied Microeconomist studying at West Virginia University. Originally born in St. Louis, MO, Maupin is the oldest of five children. In highschool he discovered a passion for economics education. His greatest motivation is helping students connect their everyday experiences with the economic ideas they learn in his classrooms.

Maupin's research interests span many topics, with a focus on Education, Public Policy, and Discrimination. He lives with his spouse and two cats.
