My Original Music

I was born into a musical family. Some of my earliest memories are of singing—gathered around the piano or lifting our voices together in the car as we traveled. Music wasn’t just something we did; it was woven into the fabric of our lives.

My parents were Southern Gospel singers, and they passed that love on to me and my three brothers. They taught us how to harmonize, and for many years we sang together—traveling from church to church, and later, continuing as a full family. Those roots in Southern Gospel still shape everything I write today.

I believe a song should carry a story—a message that means something. Every piece you’ll find here is written from that conviction. Unless otherwise noted, these are all original songs. I’ve been writing for nearly 50 years, though for most of that time, the songs were just for me and for close family.

Now, with the help of new technology, those melodies and lyrics come to life in a way I never imagined. Each song tells a story—because each song is a story. Each song will be accompanied with author notes so you can understand why I wrote each.

Gospel - Love Never Fails

“Love Never Fails” was written during a lonely season of my life while I was living in Japan. Many nights after work, I would sit alone with my guitar for hours, singing, praying, thinking, and searching for peace far away from home.

One evening after hearing a sermon on love based on 1 Corinthians 13, these lyrics began to pour out. The message struck me deeply—that accomplishments, words, wealth, and even sacrifice mean nothing without genuine love behind them.

At the time, I was reflecting on relationships, faith, forgiveness, and the difference between simply saying “I love you” and truly living it through our actions. The song became both a prayer and a reminder to myself that love is the greatest gift God gives us and the greatest gift we can give to others.

“Love Never Fails” was born in quiet nights, far from home, with only a guitar, memories, and God’s Word for company. Even now, years later, the message still feels just as true:

Faith remains. Hope remains. But the greatest of these is love.

Gospel - I'll See Them Again

My father—my Daddy—passed away a few years ago, and I still miss him deeply.

There have been many times in church when a song would be sung that I knew he loved… or one I had heard him sing… or one we had sung together as a family. In those moments, the tears would come—not loudly, not outwardly—but quietly, steadily, running down my cheeks. I would sit there in the pew and find myself wondering what my Daddy was doing at that very moment.

As a Christian, I hold on to the promise that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I know he does not see my sorrow, and he does not carry sadness where he is. But I also know this—there will come a day when I will see him again.

Those thoughts became the seed for this song.

One of my earliest memories is riding home from church in the car with him from Pineville, North Carolina, back home to Rock Hill, South Carolina—the sunlight flickering through the trees, my parents singing, and me drifting off to sleep in the back seat. That memory stayed with me, and in many ways, it found its way into this song.

This song became therapy for me—and for many in my family.

The picture you see alongside this song is my family. Others include my grandparents, my children and grandchildren, and loved ones who have meant so much to me. Through God’s grace, I hold to the hope that one day I will see them all again.

Gospel - Pictures of Jesus

Some of my earliest memories of church go back to my Aunt Betty’s church in Pineville, North Carolina. She—my Daddy’s sister—was actually my very first Sunday school teacher.

I was only three or four years old and didn’t even know how to read yet. But I remember her holding up pictures of Jesus—His miracles, His teaching—and telling the stories through those images. Those moments stayed with me.

Looking back, I realize those pictures did more than tell stories—they planted something deeper in me. They sparked a lifelong appreciation for art and storytelling… how a simple image can carry truth and meaning.

More importantly, they taught me the foundation of the Christian life: love God, and love your neighbor.

That message has never left me, and it finds its way into this song. Pictures of Jesus was written a few years ago, but its roots go all the way back to those early Sunday school days—stories told through pictures that pointed me to Him.

Country - Nothin' More To Give

I wrote “Nothin’ More to Give” after a conversation with a coworker who opened up to me about his life and struggles. Beneath the surface, he was carrying a deep sadness and depression. He felt like no matter how hard he tried, he could never measure up or do anything right.

What struck me most was the way he talked about his wife. In his eyes, she was loving, faithful, and almost perfect. Even when he drank too much, let her down, and withdrew into himself, she still loved him. But instead of feeling comforted by that love, he felt undeserving of it.

One line in the song that came directly from his heart was: “I think if I leave her to another man.” He truly believed that if he walked away, she would eventually find someone better than him—a man who wouldn’t hurt her, disappoint her, or make her carry the weight of his struggles. He loved her so deeply that he convinced himself the most loving thing he could do was leave, because he didn’t want her living through what he called “the hell of him.”

That conversation stayed with me for a long time. This song was born from that pain—the quiet pain many people carry while smiling through everyday life. It’s about shame, addiction, hopelessness, and the fear of becoming a burden to the people who love us most. But it’s also about the tragic way depression can blind someone to their own worth.

I think there are many people silently fighting those same battles, and I hope this song lets them know they are not alone.

Gospel - She's The Bride of Christ

My youngest son, The Rev. Dr. Zackery Williams, has inspired much of my music through his preaching.

Some time ago, he delivered a sermon series on the power and importance of the Church. As I listened, it brought back memories of songs my family sang over the years—songs about the Church as the Bride of Christ. Many of those were sung a cappella, with nothing but voices lifted in harmony.

That influence shaped this song.

You’ll hear moments of a cappella harmony woven throughout, as a nod to those earlier days. The song—and the accompanying video—reflect the struggles the Church has faced across generations. Yet at its core, it proclaims an unchanging truth: the Church is built on the blood and sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is the Bridegroom.

Country - Patriotic - American Attitude

Some songs are written on purpose—this one found me. It began on a road trip through South Korea with my friend Charlie Woodruff after a visit near the DMZ. As we drove away from that stark line dividing two worlds, we found ourselves talking about mindset—how people can live so close together, yet think so differently. That conversation turned toward home, and the differences in attitudes across America. Charlie said that though he was born in New York, he had the mindset of a Southern man. I told him something I didn’t fully realize the weight of until later: a Southern attitude isn’t about the latitude of your birth—it doesn’t matter where you lay your head.

I went on to write the song and perform it with the Willy Williams Band as “Southern Attitude,” but it didn’t take long to understand that the message was bigger than the South. It was about America. At its heart, the song is a reminder that freedom isn’t defined by geography—it’s a mindset, a way of seeing the world, and a choice we carry within us.

Gospel - Joseph Did You Know?

This song was inspired by a simple but profound question from my son, Zack. One day he called and said, “There’s so much talk about ‘Mary, Did You Know?’—but what about Joseph?” That question stayed with me. What did Jesus’ earthly father know? What did he think? What fears and responsibilities did he carry?

It’s a simple question with a deeply complex weight. As I began to reflect, one image kept returning to me: Joseph holding the infant Jesus in his arms. Did he fully realize that he was holding God—the One who spoke all things into existence, the One through whom everything was made?

That thought is both humbling and overwhelming, and it leads each listener to a personal place of reflection. Because in the end, the question isn’t just about Joseph—it’s about us. What do we do with Jesus? Do we accept Him as God, or do we reject Him? It is a powerful question, and though the answer is simple, it carries eternal weight.

Gospel - Life's Auction

This song was inspired by a sermon illustration shared by my son and pastor, Rev. Dr. Zackery Williams. In his message, he painted a powerful picture of humanity standing on an auction block — broken, guilty, surrounded by sin and the forces of darkness. One by one, the demons bid for the soul of a lost man, each offering the chains of addiction, lust, hatred, pride, and shame.

But then the story changed.

Jesus stepped forward. He did not deny the man’s guilt. Instead, He offered Himself as the payment. Through His sacrifice on the cross, the condemned man was redeemed, no longer owned by sin, but claimed by grace.

That image stayed with me long after church ended. I went home deeply moved and began writing almost immediately. The lyrics flowed from the idea that many of us know what it feels like to stand condemned by our past, our failures, and our sin — yet Christ still steps in and says, “I’ll pay the price.”

The song became both a story and a testimony: a reminder that salvation is not purchased with silver or gold, but through the blood and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. At its heart, this is a song about redemption, mercy, and the overwhelming love of a Savior who was willing to pay the highest price for souls like ours.
