The mission of the Italian Cultural Center, according to Dr. Dominic Candeloro, historian, Casa Italia Library Curator and director of the Italian Cultural Center, is to "Save our Stories" before they are lost forever.

“Our event is a great place for readers to immerse themselves in the work of local Italian-American writers, and a great place for Italian-American writers to network and find out what their fellow authors are doing,” says Italian Cultural Center librarian and event founder Dominic Candeloro. “We proudly support Italian-American authors and we encourage the rest of the community to do the same.”

“As Italian Americans, we need to save our stories, or we will lose our heritage.  If we don't tell our stories, others will and the result will be more and more mafia stereotypes. Our IA Literati writers are in the forefront of the effort to save our stories and enhance pride in future generations.  Writers deserve our full support,” says Dominic Candeloro, Italian Cultural Center curator and event founder.  Dr. Candeloro will present his personal family history book as a template for others to follow.  Anthony Venturella will demonstrate proof of concept with his own recently published family history book.
