Kara David's 2018 documentary "Paglipas ng perya" is one of the most memorable documentaries I've ever seen. Back in 1997, Kara David made the documentary "Carnival", One of Kara David's mission is to discover the carnival life, He stumbled upon the carnival of Pasay City and this is where he first met Angelito, Rodni Aquino, and Zurika. These three is better known as Penguin Man, Kangaroo Boy and Cannibal Man. After 20 years(2018), he thought of looking for the people in the side show of the fair. After I watched it, the most remarkable part for me was Kara David's journey to find the people in the side show of the fair in 1997. What he was looking for were the people known as Penguin Man, Kangaroo Boy, Chicken Man, and Zurika the cannibal. I realized that people feel different on the outside and inside. I realized this because I found out that people used to make fun of people with disabilities. On the other hand, people who manipulated the fair made money from it, which is also very sad to know. When Kara David traveled, she saw some of the people in the side show and their stories were heartbreaking. Being part of the side show is very sad because people laughing just because of your appearance is very painful to feel and this is mixed with exploitation by the management because they only lock people in the side show and cut off their freedom to get out They don't let them out because they say people outside will see it and they won't be enticed to come to the fair and watch. As time goes by, the carnivals are on the decline, from here it can also be seen that the side shows have almost disappeared. It's sad for other people who feel happy watching people like this but it's even happier to think that they are no longer being made money because of their looks. At the end, this documentary will show the opposite of what each person feels from different perspectives, If one is happy, the other experiences sadness and longing. For me, the passage of time is a great help to forget about this system with no victims and watch more. It also shows the use of one of our neighbors to be fun and to make money. It is to my great dismay that I also know it has the same effect on the viewer.
