I took the BIG plunge and bought a Mercedes 2105 44 sprinter van and am having Sportsmobile outfit it with everything. The BIG difference is that I am moving into it full time. I have spent the last decade renting an apartment in LA where I work part time and then driving back and forth to climb while missing my cat (and paying for a babysitter). After much internal debate, I decided it was time to consolidate and be like a snail (home on back). The sprinter is basically a tiny house with a queen size bed that pops up, shower, toilet, oven, stove, couch. It is powered with solar panels and diesel from the engine.

Dear Steph,

I have been a fan for years. My own sprinter experience with a new 44 has been nothing short of disastrous. I did however find a silver lining. If you have problems, call Mercedes Benz of Westminster in Denver and ask for Paul. He is an educated British fellow who worked on them in the UK. Out of the 5 dealerships in the USA that worked on my van he was the only one the seemed to know his job. I pray you have better luck than I did. Please keep extra DEF in your van in case of emergencies and avoid biodiesel like the plague. It is quickly rotting out the fuel system. -source.com was helpful for do it yourself repairs and unfitting.

Hey, thinking about a sprinter purchase and like the tire wheel combo you have. What tire and wheel is that, what size, and do they fit without issue? Have you ever looked into going a bit bigger? Thanks

I need a fall sport to do, and have been looking at cross country. Our school's head coach is saying that I should do it to keep in shape and that it will make me better at the 400m, but our sprint coach says that cross country makes you a slower sprinter and that it will take some of the "spring" out of my sprinting ability.

Thanks for the advice. I just discussed this a little with the xc coach (who also is one of our track coaches) and he decided that I could do a different workout each day with the one other sprinter who is doing cross country, where I would run a mile less than everyone else, and use that time to do certain speed work.

Mike:

My god, you are unreal. I must have ruined WC sprinters by using your frame of mind, because my XC runners are faster than my sprinters. The whole sports enhancement world has ruined more than just a few good sprinters with this philosophy.

Before I got ahead of myself, both raw wood panels were pulled back down and painted with semi-gloss house paint. I wanted to make sure everything fit properly before getting too far with finish work.

When I was designing the van, I had a couple of requirements. I needed a comfortable place to work, I wanted to sleep across the length of the van instead of parallel to the backdoor, and I wanted to maintain the walkway to the back of the van.

So what exactly is a sprinter van and how do you start your own sprinter van business? This guide will cover everything you need to know about how to become a sprinter van owner-operator and make your mark on the industry.

A sprinter van is a lightweight commercial vehicle. Originally produced by Mercedes-Benz in 1995, since its successful launch in Europe in 1995 and its official American debut back in 2010, the sprinter name has become a blanket term used by many to mean commercial cargo van or crew van. Many makers are now producing sprinter-style vehicles that offer similar capabilities with an array of different configurations. These include the Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, and GMC Savana, in addition to the Mercedes-Benz vans.

Additionally, with starting prices beginning as low as $29,000, brand-new sprinter vans can be a little easier to acquire compared to new trucking trailers, which can range in price from roughly $125K to $150K. This lower barrier-to-entry can be a major advantage to those new to freight transportation.

Beyond the ease of use and affordability of a sprinter van, being an owner-operator can be a truly rewarding experience that offers you flexible hours, the chance to be part of a growing industry, and an opportunity to meet people from all walks of life.

Planning is a crucial step when starting your own business. Before you go out and purchase a van, take some time to do some thorough planning. One of the best ways to set yourself up for success when starting your own freight delivery company is by researching the market and understanding where you want to fit in. Do you want to be the sole driver of your company, or do you want to grow to run your own fleet eventually? Do you want to operate within state lines (intrastate) or travel across the country (interstate)? How will you pay for fuel?

Once you start your sprinter van business, you need to start finding the best loads that get you on the road. The DAT load board is the best place to find quality sprinter van freight. At 50,000 miles it was finally time to buy a new set of tires. We only had two decisions before beginning to search for brands and models. First, we easily decided to stick with the stock black steel 16 inch wheels in order to save several hundred dollars. Second, we needed to decide if we were going to upsize. Although upsizing would require the purchase of a full-sized spare and new tire chains, we quickly decided we wanted to do it. According to friends with more off-road experience than we have, and a few Sprinter forums, upsizing would improve performance on- and off-road. Maybe more importantly, larger tires will also look better. ?

However, there are some who train like a sprinter as distance runners. I fall in the group, slightly. In the words of Alberto Salazar, distance runners should train like sprinters to really become fast distance runners. So I do a lot of sprint running drills and sprint form drills....One thing I will not be able to provide any information on is starting out of the blocks, or jumping out of the blocks.

Everything in sprinting is about powerful, fast movement, so fast twitch muscles need to be strong and fast. Weight training is mandatory, where you are going to have to lift weights at least twice a week. Squats, leg lifts, lunges, box jumping, rope jumping, chest presses, lateral pull downs, military presses, and core work are the exercises that you want to focus on. A lot of concentration is going to be placed on your glutes and hamstrings, because that is where most of your running firepower comes from. Those muscles must work as a unit so that you can really push through with good force as a sprinter.

This is really the meat of sprinting. This is where a sprinter develops his form and structure, and drills must be performed with speed and precision. With sprinters, just like with a cheetah, the feet must grab and pull through so that the sprinter can propel forward with a lot of power, thus generating a lot of speed. Sprinting drills will train the body to do just that.

Now, when performing those drills, they must be done in a fast, whipping action. You're training those fast twitch muscles to be explosive ( fast and powerful), as well as developing great technique as a sprinter.

I've also worked really hard in the past 10 years in my business and also have a school age child, but recently sold the business and started working 3 days per week for the last few weeks in the hand over period. In another 10 weeks I won't have to work at all and am financially free so can train and rest as much as I want, which I've wanted to do do so long, but have been restricted by working in my business.

Been persisting with this for 18 months already with quite a few injuries, but feel I've gotten past the initial break in period, so plan to keep improving for at least another few years and want to peak when I reach the 45-49 age group bracket.

If you want u want your muscles to be functional, just do this 1 thing, nothing and I mean NOTHING else....... Listen carefully,. Think hard about this..... Ready? Ok...... Do this: Just RUN..... No gym, no weight lifting, just... R.U.N! Now, instead of going to the gym, take your gym to the track. Resistance training IS impor5ant, but here's the golden ruke..... If you can't run with it, DON'T use it. So if ur resistance training uses weights, can you run with it? If no, then put it aside. Can u run with barbells? Can you run with Huge dumbbells? No.... I'll let u think about this. Do Cheetahs train with heavy weights? What's the PRIMARY thing that it does to maintain its speed and how does it train? Keep the main thing the MAIN thing. You'll recover faster and see gains faster. Your training will be 100% functional and youll Focus! You body will be Balanced the way it's SUPPOSED TO BE.... 17dc91bb1f
