This Privacy Policy describes how Khandker Tafiqul Islam (“I”, “me”, “my”) collects, uses and protects information when you use the AntiqScan : Antique Identifier mobile application (the “App”).
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information I collect:
I only collect information that is necessary to operate and improve AntiqScan.
1.1. Information you provide
• Antique photos & images
– Photos you take or upload for identification or appraisal.
– Optional titles, notes or tags you add to your items.
• Account information (if accounts are added in future)
– Email address, display name and similar basic details.
– Authentication identifiers from Apple Sign-In or other login providers.
• Support & communication
– Messages you send to me (support emails, feedback forms, bug reports).
– Information provided when you participate in surveys, beta tests, or promotions.
I do not collect or store your payment card numbers. All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple via your Apple ID.
1.2. Information collected automatically
When you use the App, certain information may be collected automatically, such as:
• Device information (device model, operating system version, language, time zone, screen size)
• App information (app version, settings, installation date)
• Usage data (screens viewed, taps, features used, session length)
• Crash reports and diagnostic data
• Anonymous identifiers generated by the App or by analytics / subscription SDKs
This information is usually collected in aggregate or pseudonymous form and does not directly identify you.
1.3. Image & AI processing data (OpenAI)
To identify antiques, AntiqScan processes the photos and text you submit:
• Your photos and related text may be securely sent to OpenAI’s APIs and my own servers to:
– Analyze visual features
– Suggest possible objects, styles and time periods
– Provide contextual information and indicative value ranges
• According to OpenAI’s current documentation, data submitted via the OpenAI API is not used to train or improve OpenAI models unless the customer explicitly opts in. I do not opt in to such training for AntiqScan.
• I may keep your photos and the associated AI results in order to:
– Show your identification history inside the App
– Improve detection quality (for example, by checking where the AI is wrong)
– Maintain logs and backups for a limited period
Where possible, I use anonymized or aggregated data (for example, cropped images or statistics that do not identify you personally) when improving algorithms or analytics.
If in the future I add a setting that lets you opt out of using your data for model improvement, it will be clearly visible in the App.
2. How I use your information
I use the information described above to:
1) Provide the core service
– Process your images and return identification / appraisal results
– Maintain your item history, favorites and settings
– Manage access to paid features and subscriptions
2) Improve and protect AntiqScan
– Diagnose crashes and fix bugs
– Analyze how features are used so I can improve them
– Test new designs, features and performance improvements
3) Communicate with you
– Respond to support or feedback
– Send important service or policy updates
– With your consent, send tips, feature announcements or promotions
4) Legal & compliance
– Enforce my Terms & Conditions
– Prevent fraud or abuse
– Comply with applicable laws and lawful requests
Where required by law, processing may be based on one or more of these legal bases: performance of a contract (providing the App), my legitimate interests (improving and protecting the service), your consent, and legal obligations.
3. Third-party services:
To operate AntiqScan, I may use third-party services acting as data processors, including:
• OpenAI – for AI-based image and text analysis
• Apple – for in-app purchases, subscriptions and usage analytics via the App Store
• Cloud hosting / storage providers – to host servers, databases and backups
• Analytics and crash reporting tools – to understand usage and fix issues
These providers may process your data only as necessary to provide their services to me and are bound by their own privacy policies. I encourage you to review their policies separately.
I do not sell your personal data.
4. Advertising & tracking
• AntiqScan currently does not display third-party banner or interstitial ads, and I do not use your data for cross-app advertising tracking.
• If this changes in the future (for example, if I add ads that require tracking consent in certain regions), I will update this Policy and request any permissions required by law.
5. Data retention
I keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here:
• Item photos & history – kept while needed to display your history and for a reasonable period afterwards for backups and troubleshooting.
• Support messages – kept while necessary to help you and maintain records.
• Analytics & logs – typically stored for up to 24 months in aggregated or pseudonymous form, unless a longer period is needed for security, legal or backup reasons.
If you want your data deleted, please contact me at info.drongo@gmail.com. Some data may need to be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (for example, basic transaction records).
6. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App and provided personal information, please contact me at info.drongo@gmail.com. I will take steps to delete such information.
If your local law sets a higher age threshold for consent (for example, 16), that higher age will apply in that jurisdiction.
7. International data transfers
I am based in Bangladesh, but your data may be processed on servers located in other countries (for example where my cloud providers or OpenAI host their infrastructure). Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your country.
I take reasonable steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights such as:
• Access to the personal data I hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Security
I use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, such as:
• Encryption in transit (HTTPS)
• Access controls for systems that store data
• Regular updates and security patches
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You use the App at your own risk and are responsible for securing your device (for example, with a passcode or biometric lock).
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When I do:
• I will update the “Last updated” date at the top; and
• Where appropriate, I may notify you inside the App or through other reasonable means.
Your continued use of AntiqScan after any changes means you accept the updated Policy.
