I-NAME Coalition Leadership
I am a Chancellor's Professor of Geography at the University of Tennessee. My interests are cultural and historical geography with a focus on landscapes of public memory, race, heritage tourism, social/spatial justice, critical place-name studies, and politics of geographic mobility and travel–all with the goal of advancing our understanding of the American South (southeastern United States) and the African American freedom struggle.
I am a Visiting Honors Lecturer at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I earned my PhD in Geography in 2026 at the University of Tennessee. My research specialties are in critical parks geographies, place naming studies, and geography education. I am a passionate teacher who loves to share his experiences visiting our 'National Parks' and the outdoors with students in geography and honors courses.

I am an Assistant Professor of U.S. Public History at the University of South Florida. My research interests include geographies of memory, Black geographies, historic preservation, heritage tourism, and critical place-naming. I am especially interested in how the past is embedded and expressed in both material and immaterial environments and in how we might work toward a more equitable memory landscape.
I am a Teaching Assistant Professor in Public Policy at the Scrivner Institute of Public Policy at the University of Denver (DU's) Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs. I earned my PhD in Urban Planning at Columbia University. Using institutional analysis, I study the intersection of urban politics, planning, and development. I believe that it is in this resident-driven engagement and contestation with the "rules of the urban development game" that possibilities for grassroots popular democracy can be cultivated.
I am a Assistant Professor of Geography and GIS at the University of Texas in Arlington. I hold a PhD in Geography from Trinity College at the University of Dublin. I conduct research in literary, historical, cultural, human and physical geography, geographical information science, historical military and maritime visualization and analysis methodologies and applications, and the digital and environmental humanities.
