I'm looking for a decent text/notification tone. I still have yet to find one that really grabs my attention. Feel free to mention some of your favorites and if you're up to it maybe attach a link for them. They can be stock tones or homemade ones!

I came here looking for an answer to this question. I am a former ring user and I loved that it gave me a motion audible alert AND a doorbell audible alert. I want that now. It does me no good to have a doorbell remotely when I am not notified when someone is there.

I just got the nest doorbell and really disappointed that my phone just get a notification and to a ring. The point was when I am away I can speak to the person when they ring the doorbell. Thinking of returning this unit

Completely agree, the amount of times i've been out and missed a delivery because all I get on my Google Pixel is a small notification mixed in with all the other notifications I get, rather than a proper alert in the same way as if I were receiving a text or phone call. Out of interest from anyone who's had a ring, how do they send their alerts?

It's a unique ringtone, that the user picks themselves (a different one for motion and ring, if you want). I just ordered the cheapest ring doorbell ($50) and installed it near my google doorbell. Now I get the Ring alert to know someone is at my door, and can use my google doorbell to answer. It works... but I should NOT have to do that!

I wonder if this community can help me! I have had my Samsung galaxy S8 for several years and I love it. It's always on silent mode and so never makes a sound unless I'm playing multimedia or it vibrates lightly when I get a call. But recently something must have changed. Several times a day the phone makes a sound like a notification alert. Everytime it does it I go into notifications trying to track down the culprit but there is never any log of recent notifications. I've checked in exceptions too and nothing. I also checked the card payment feature as I heard that can cause sounds and I do keep my debit card in my phone case but that was turned off and I tested by taking my card out of the case and it still makes the sound occasionally. Multimedia volume is on (and I want to keep it that way as I am sure the sound will go away if I reduce this volume but that's a workaround and I need to find the source of this sound!) All other volumes (Bixby, call, notifications, system) are at zero. I'm at my wits end you guys! Does anyone know how I might be able to find out what's causing this mystery sound? Thanks in advance!

Hiya - I don't have the advanced options when I go into settings>>>notifications unfortunately. I can see all the apps listed there and can do show more and sort by recent but alas nothing claims to have been sending me a notification anytime close to when the sound happens on my phone. It's sort of a soft "Bing bong" - really not sure I'm describing it well though lol!

Exactly. The worst change in all iOS 17. They also changed the vibration so all apps have the same vibration. I used to recognize apps via the vibration and I knew what is important and what is not only by the vibration. So now I am looking for a way to downgrade because notifications are the BASICS of the phone and they changed it without a chance to customise it back yourself. No thanks.

Dear Apple,After os17 update the notification sound has changed, liked other people are also mentioning and it is becoming very annoying and not able change it make situation more worst. It unnecessarily make us think that what compromise we can face without our consent in the upcoming updates !!

I hate this, but the way I fixed it was shortened a song on my MacBook and made sure i could see it in my Music. Then configure an automation on the iPhone (Shortcuts>Automation) that would set a tone when a certain person texted me - you can also do for specific works as well. I had it set to run automatically, and then tested it out.

I really don't like this change, and because i only had 1 different tone needed for a single person the automation worked. If it was for everyone/Everything - it would totally be a different experience.

Does anyone know the name of the tone sound when you "love" a text someone sent you? It's when you press the received txt message and you can reply with a thumbs up or down, an exclamation point or a heart sign.....I'm looking for the name of the heart (love) tone

Hi there, @Cocky1! It is certainly odd to hear that your ring events are not notifying, although motion notifications and operation is normal. Starting with the ring alerts toggle in the Ring app is always best, as turning this off then back on might help to save this request with the Doorbell. Please also ensure that a notification tone is select for your alerts, with volume, in the app alerts tones settings for your Video Doorbell, in the Ring app. Of course, even if it was not, the default sound should still notify.

Hi

Since the last 2 IOS updates, I've lost my new mail alert tone. I was hoping with the release of 15.3 it would be sorted, but no luck. I have checked that the sounds setting for mail is still on plus looked in the notifications setting to check that all options for mail are turned on, but still no luck.

If anyone has the same issue and has managed to fix it I'd love to hear from you. It's not the end of the world, but means I have to check more regularly for any new mail I may have missed.

Many thanks

Debbie

Thank you for your quick responses. yes that helped i was able to find and toggle off the sound events for my version 3 cameras. I also have a Floodlight Pro camera and it does not seem to have the same sound notification options though.

You can change a notification sound on your iPhone in iOS 17 via Settings > Sounds & Haptics. You are also able to adjust the volume of your notifications from this page. However, within iOS 17, you are only able to change the notification sound of certain first-party Apple apps, like Messages.

The default notification tone in iOS 17 is Rebound, which is rather different from the traditional Tri-Tone sound many users recognize and love. Though users online consider Rebound to be a rather quiet default app notification sound, remember that you can change the custom tone back to Tri Tone for certain Apple-based apps.

To set up flashing light notifications on an Android, tap Settings > Accessibility > Hearing > Flash Notifications. Next to Camera Light and Screen, turn on Flash Notifications. If your Android doesn't support flash notifications, check for third-party apps on the Google Play Store.

While you can't completely get rid of the "sticky" AVG Antivirus notification, you can minimize it. For Android 10 or later, tap and pull down the status bar, tap and hold the AVG notification, and then tap Details. Tap Sticky or Permanent, and select Minimize notifications.

To use the audio through the browser, the notification "ring" AND the audio from the caller goes to the Windows default speaker. The Flash configuration pop-up only lets you choose your mic, but not your speaker. So, you can either have that audio go to the computer speaker or to the headset. Here's the problem:

We're working on HTML 5 based browser notifications. These will be available in April 2014. The idea here is to give you the notification which if you click on it will bring you to Zendesk so you can answer the call.

We are experiencing exactly the same problems, but we will just try to use our mobiles instead of softphones, thus, the ring tone will be heard in the mobile phone and with the right kind of headset we can work completely mobile anyway.

When you create a new calendar event, each family member included on the event will now receive a notification letting them know about it. This is one more way Cozi will help do the job of keeping everyone informed about the schedule.

Would you mind checking to be sure that supportops.co is whitelisted with your email server? Sometimes, our forum email notifications get caught in spam filters at the server level. The domain and IP from which emails are sent is: {INSERT DOMAIN/IP ADDRESS HERE}.

Sorry I miswrote! I get text notifications for arming, disarming, lost/regained connection and secret alerts. NOT outdoor camera motion. It would be nice if all this was well laid out/documented/available to read. Just a push alert for camera motion.

Maybe a new system alert SMS Recipient togglable category or a specific individual camera setting to text with motion detection or a motion "secret alert". Currently motion notifications "on" only provides a push notification.

Volume: Set the volume level for call ringtones, notifications, media, and system sounds. To find this, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel, and then tap the Settings icon. Tap Sounds and vibration, and then tap Volume. Then, drag the sliders for each sound type.

Ringtone: Customize your call ringtone by choosing from preset sounds or adding your own. To find this, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel, and then tap the Settings icon. Tap Sounds and vibration, and then tap Ringtone. You can also assign ringtones to specific contacts by opening the Contacts app, then tapping a contact, and then tapping Edit. Tap View more, and then tap Ringtone. Now just tap a ringtone to hear a preview and select it, or tap Add (the plus sign) to use an audio file as a ringtone.

Notification sound: Choose a preset sound for all notification alerts. To find this, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel, and then tap the Settings icon. Tap Sounds and vibration, and then tap Notification sound. Tap a sound to hear a preview and select it. e24fc04721
