Putnam Competition

Together with my colleague Prof. Miodrag Iovanov, we have been working with undergraduate students interested in competing in Putnam and in learning a variety of topics in undergraduate mathematics since 2013. Our students have obtained honorable team ranks for the UIowa  team (such as 27th, 51st, 28th, 60th, 37th in various years).

This semester I will be running the training with Prof. Hao Fang. Interested students should contact me or Hao at the above contact email. Putnam is a great opportunity for students to learn new exciting topics in basic algebra, analysis, combinatorics, geometry, number theory, probability, through a hands-on approach direct problem solving, which usually takes place in an open discussion with everyone pitching in ideas.

This semester (Fall 23) the training for the Putnam Competition will be held on the Zoom platform on Fridays between  12.30-2.00pm. If you are interested please email me for the Zoom meeting ID and password.
