Key Responsibilities-
Conduct research on automated preparation and handling of deformable catfish fillets for Individual Quick Freezing (IQF) under a USDA-NIFA-AFRI funded project.
Develop and evaluate real-time computer vision models for fillet detection, physical-state classification, tracking, and orientation analysis under conveyor-based processing conditions.
Lead dataset curation, annotation strategy, model benchmarking, and experimental evaluation across multiple conveyor speeds and operating conditions.
Develop perception-to-action pipelines integrating Kalman multi-object tracking, conveyor-motion prediction, camera-to-robot coordinate mapping, and real-time GUI-based supervision.
Integrate machine-vision outputs with Cartesian and delta-arm suction systems for automated picking, transfer, and fillet reorientation.
Conduct physical system validation, throughput analysis, reliability evaluation, and failure analysis using large-scale experimental trials.
Prepare research manuscripts, conference papers, posters, and technical presentations based on the developed vision and robotic systems.
Presented related research at the ASABE Annual International Meeting, SPIE Sensing for Agriculture and Food Quality and Safety, and AI in Agriculture conferences.
