As a linguist, I am interested in how people produce and perceive speech sounds and process linguistic information.

• Stress-focus prosody interaction in the production and processing of English focus prosody by Korean learners of English (funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea)

• Use of phonological information in visual word recognition in Korean and English by Korean learners of English (with Wonil Choi; funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea)

• Sentence processing and word recognition in Korean Sign Language (with Tae Wook Kim and Wonil Choi; funded by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency of Korea)

• Syntax-phonology interface in VP preposing in English (with Richard Larson, Jiwon Yun, Tatiana Luchkina)

• Phonetic cue weighting in the perception and adaptation of  a non-native speech sound /l/ in Korean (with Ellen Broselow, Jiwon Hwang, Wonil Choi)
