 Hyunwook Choo, PhD

Natural geomaterials exhibit a wide range of sizes, physical/chemical properties, and mechanical behaviors. Soils composed of particle mixtures with diverse properties pose significant challenges in characterizing and quantifying their engineering behaviors.

Directed by Dr. Hyunwook Choo, the EnGeo Research Laboratory merges traditional Geotechnics with Geophysics and Geochemistry to pioneer the characterization and synthesis of complex mixed soils and novel engineered geomaterials.

Guided by our core vision of "Smart Geotechnics," our research group embraces the challenge of maximizing the stability, resilience, and sustainability of next-generation national infrastructure and submarine geotechnical structures.
