Hypoglycemia

Prevention of hypoglycemia, its prompt identification and immediate treatment are very important for any patient with Diabetes Mellitus.

Hypoglycemia in the hospital setting occurs due to errors in the insulin regimens, error in timing of insulin, inability to recognise plasma glucose trends or due to unexpected interruptions to nutritional intake (1).
