If you want versatile listening modes that let you switch from private headphones to a room-filling speaker in seconds, choose HyperGear Headphones; if you need deep active noise cancellation and marathon battery life for long sessions on your PS5 or during travel, choose Wentronic Y02.
• HyperGear Headphones: The standout strength is the unique flip ear cup design that transforms the device into a speaker, but it lacks active noise cancellation and offers only 2 hours of charge time before needing a refill. This pick is for the social listener who wants audio flexibility.
• Wentronic Y02: Its biggest advantage is the powerful 60-hour playtime and genuine active noise cancellation technology, though it misses the dual-mode speaker functionality found in the competitor. This pick is for the serious gamer and commuter who needs isolation and endurance.
• Best for: HyperGear suits those who share music with friends nearby; Wentronic fits the solo user demanding focus and long battery life.
The HyperGear Wireless Bluetooth Headphones are built around a concept I rarely see in this price bracket: adaptability. The defining feature here is the flip ear cup design. You can rotate the ear cups inward for a traditional over-ear experience that blocks out distractions, or flip them outward to turn the headphones into a stereo speaker system. This isn't just a gimmick; it changes how you interact with your environment. If you are sitting in a dorm room, a shared office, or even at a gaming setup where you might want to blast the game audio for a friend without handing them a headset, this feature shines.
In terms of raw specs, these headphones rely on standard Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, which provides a stable wireless link with a range of about 10 meters. They utilize 40mm dynamic drivers paired with memory foam cushions. While they don't offer active noise cancellation, they do provide passive noise reduction through the physical seal of the ear cups. The sound profile aims for high definition with balanced bass, making them suitable for general music consumption and casual gaming. The controls are straightforward push buttons located directly on the ear cup, allowing you to manage volume and calls without reaching for your phone.

However, there are clear trade-offs that dictate who should skip this product. The battery life is quite short compared to modern standards; it requires a full 2 hours to charge and doesn't advertise extended playtime like its counterpart. If you plan to use these as "best wireless headphones for ps5" for multi-hour campaign sessions without a power outlet nearby, you will find yourself constantly tethered to a charger. Furthermore, the lack of active noise cancellation means you will hear the ambient world more than you would with premium ANC models. This headphone is not for the person who needs total silence; it is for the person who needs variety.
The Wentronic Y02 takes a completely different approach, focusing entirely on immersion and endurance. These are designed for users who demand isolation. With Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) capable of detecting ambient noise across the 20Hz to 20kHz frequency range, these headphones actively work to suppress background chatter, traffic, and office hum. This makes them an excellent choice for anyone looking for bluetooth headphones for ps5 in a noisy household or for gamers who want to hear every footstep in a competitive match without being distracted by real-world sounds.
The battery performance is where the Wentronic Y02 truly dominates the comparison. It boasts up to 60 hours of playback time, a figure that is rare even among high-end competitors. This longevity is supported by low-power technology and a high-capacity battery. Even better, it features a fast-charging capability where just 10 minutes of charging provides an additional 4 hours of use. This is a lifesaver for travelers or students who forget to charge their gear overnight. The connectivity is also upgraded to Bluetooth 5.4, offering a faster handshake and a more robust connection stability, although the stated range remains consistent at roughly 10 meters.
Comfort is another major pillar for the Y02. The build uses skin-friendly PU protein leather and high-resilience memory foam, designed to reduce pressure on the head during extended wear. The foldable design ensures they pack down easily for travel. However, this model locks you into a single mode of operation: headphone. There is no speaker mode, so you cannot flip the cups to broadcast audio to others. Additionally, while it has a 3.5mm jack option, the primary focus is on wireless freedom. This product is for the solitary listener who values battery life and noise isolation above all else.
• Best for Battery Life → Wentronic Y02: With 60 hours of playtime versus a significantly shorter runtime on the HyperGear, the Y02 wins decisively for long trips and all-day use.
• Best for Social Sharing → HyperGear Headphones: Only the HyperGear allows you to flip the cups and use the headphones as a speaker, making it the superior choice for group listening.
• Best for Noise Isolation → Wentronic Y02: The Active Noise Cancellation on the Y02 actively cancels sound waves, whereas the HyperGear relies only on passive padding.
• Best for Fast Charging → Wentronic Y02: A quick 10-minute charge gives you 4 hours of extra time on the Y02, a feature absent in the HyperGear's specifications.
• Best for Versatility → HyperGear Headphones: The ability to switch between headphone and speaker modes offers a level of utility the Y02 simply does not have.
• Best for Modern Connectivity → Wentronic Y02: The Bluetooth 5.4 chip ensures faster pairing and slightly better signal stability compared to the Bluetooth 5.0 in the HyperGear.
• Best for Gaming Focus → Wentronic Y02: For dedicated gaming sessions requiring focus and sports earbuds for ps5 alternatives that don't fatigue you, the Y02's comfort and ANC make it the stronger contender.
• Best for Simplicity → HyperGear Headphones: If you prefer fewer settings and a mechanical design that physically alters its function rather than relying on digital processing, the HyperGear is simpler to operate.
I would buy the Wentronic Y02 for my personal use, especially when considering its role as best wireless headphones for ps5. The combination of 60-hour battery life and active noise cancellation addresses the two biggest pain points for gamers: running out of power mid-match and dealing with household distractions. While the HyperGear's speaker mode is clever, it feels like a novelty that sacrifices essential performance metrics like battery endurance and isolation. In my opinion, the Wentronic Y02 delivers a more reliable and immersive experience for serious audio consumption.
