StayInTab

Introduction

StayInTab is a light-weighted extension that prevents a webpage from opening new tabs and helps you stay browsing in the same tab.  

When you click on a link of a webpage that tries to open to a new tab, StayInTab redirects the link back to your original tab. 

However, you can still open link into a new tab if you want, by either right-click the link or by Ctrl/Command-click:

• StayInTab does not block popups. Chrome blocks popups for you by default.

The Rationale

As popup windows are mostly disturbing during browsing, new-tabs are also unwanted nowadays. Without limiting a website from auto-opening new tabs, the number of browser tabs can grow very quickly.

 
This extension leaves the full control back to you, the user, to decide when to open a link into a new tab.  It is recommended to also install our PageOne extension to even better help you avoid opening new tabs.
