Don't brush side to side. Use the bass technique which is holding your brush at a 45 degree angle to the gum. Come and see me and I'll show you how.
Don't brush straight after eating. Wait at least half an hour after eating before brushing.
Don't use a hard bristle brush. Brushing too hard or too much can damage your gums and enamel.
Not changing your brush. Change your brush at least every 3 months.
Rinsing with water after brushing gets rid of the protective toothpaste. So just spit out the excess toothpaste and don't rinse with water.
