About Hygge Tutoring

Meet The Founder.

Quote from Jasmine Darmadi herself:

"Hi I’m Jasmine Darmadi (she/her) and I’m the founder of Hygge Tutoring! I’m a 16 year old Junior at South Eugene High School and I enjoy: socializing with close friends, eating tasty foods, and watching Netflix!!

Ever since Covid-19 hit in 2020, it has been especially difficult for BIPOC and low-income students to get educational resources, and unfortunately this struggle doesn’t get enough attention. Here at Hygge Tutoring I hope to not only bring awareness about this struggle, but to also combat this struggle with one tutoring session at time. With the help of many passionate high school students from America, there are currently 6 different Hygge Tutoring chapters in 5 different states. I think it’s amazing how my generation can become so passionate and caring about different types of social justice issues and I’m glad that I get to work with such amazing high school students from different parts of America. I want more people to learn about equitable education and Hygge Tutoring, so please visit our Instagram page @hyggetutoring!"

Other things Jasmine enjoys:

  • Nature and the outdoors

  • Her sister's cooking

  • Pride and Prejudice (book + movie)

mission.

Simple. Education equity.

Education is important and it is powerful: it leads to success. However, for a long time, people of color have been deprived of the privilege to get access to equitable education which makes it a mission at Hygge Tutoring that students of color as well as low-income students have access to educational resources.

What Our sessions Look Like.

Each student who signs up for a tutor will have a one on one session with a personal tutor on Zoom. All of our tutors are currently high school students and we can help with homework and help tutor specific subjects.
