Data Usage Policy

The Hydrometeorological Data Request Portal under the Hydro-Meteorology Division of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is dedicated to safeguarding your personal data privacy following the Republic Act No. 10173, also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA).

This page will explain how we collect, retain, and share personally identifiable information specifically when acquired through online accessible data processing systems like online data request portals or feedback forms. The processing of your personal data will rigorously align with the stipulations outlined in the DPA, emphasizing utmost confidentiality. 

The personal information that we will collect using this portal may include details like your name, address, phone or mobile number, email address, age, gender, employer, and position title. Other data that we will collect are the time and date you submitted the forms; company or school address; copy of the project/thesis proposal; copy of the school ID/ Registration form, and signed request letter and Terms of Use. Finally, the manner of collection is limited to online hydrometeorological data request forms in this portal and client satisfaction feedback forms.

All information provided through this portal will be exclusively utilized to refine the features of this portal, enhance our services, conduct demographic analyses, and fulfill legal obligations as mandated by applicable laws. 

Other purposes are:

1. Provide you with updates about our data products i.e. fees update

2. Respond to correspondence we receive from you.

3. Contact you with surveys, legal notices, and other information that may be relevant to your use of our services in this portal.

4. Personalize your use of this portal.

5. Provide you with information on how to use our other services.

Generally, all the information collected in this portal is stored in our Google Workspace in various formats such as docs, sheets, and pdf. All information stated in the "Personal Data Collected and Manner of Collection" clause will be retained for three (3) months and will be securely discarded and disposed of automatically by our system.

Other than the above-stated collection, usage, and retention, we will not add you to any mailing list, nor give, sell, and intentionally share your personal information with third parties without your consent, unless required by law. The personal information will be used only for the purpose stated in the "Privacy Statement".

In case there is an update in our "Data Usage Policy", we will post the changes here wherein you will always have access to determine whether or not we gather personal information about you; use information about you, or disclose your information to anyone else. Continuing to use our "Online Data Request Portal" will constitute your acceptance of the stated terms and conditions.
