Our lab's journey began in the early 2000s, and we are now creating an archive to preserve and celebrate our legacy. We warmly invite all our alumni to contribute. If you have any past photos, research stories, or personal updates you'd like to share, please reach out to us. (졸업생 여러분의 소중한 참여를 기다립니다. 공유하고 싶은 과거 사진이나 연구 이야기, 혹은 개인적인 근황이 있다면 언제든지 편하게 연락주세요. )
Please note, this feed will be regularly updated starting in Aug 2025.
Escaping the hot summer heat, our team spent a wonderful time refreshing both mind and body. From fun water activities to relaxing evenings filled with great food, long conversations, and plenty of laughs, it was the perfect chance to step away from our daily research routine. Charged with fresh energy and great memories, we are ready to dive back into our work with renewed passion! 🌊☀️
We had a wonderful time celebrating Teacher’s Day with our team!
Thank you to our advisor for always guiding our research with great patience and direction. A special thanks goes to our amazing students, who surprised us with thoughtful tasty snacks and a rolling paper filled with sweet, encouraging messages.💐
The winning Blue and Black teams gathered for a well-deserved coffee break to celebrate their photo mission victory. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Dr. Sohn, everyone enjoyed a wonderful time together over coffee and treats. As for the winning photos... we'll keep those legendary shots off the public website for now! ☕📸
We recently took a wonderful break from the lab for a team refresh activity at Namsan Mountain.
Filled with laughter and excitement, our afternoon featured a thrilling team photo mission that had everyone posing across the picturesque trails. We also gathered to enjoy famous Namsan pork cutlets (남산돈까스) and carried the celebration into a lively after-party. It was the perfect opportunity to step away from research and build lasting memories together. ⛰️📸
We recently enjoyed a pleasant spring picnic under the beautiful cherry blossoms at Mirae pond (미래연) on KIST.
Beyond the delicious food, the afternoon was filled with laughter, conversation, and plenty of photos to capture the beautiful moment. It was a wonderful chance for the team to step outside the lab, relax together, and create lasting memories under the spring blossoms.🌸
We are proud to announce that Dr. Jeong has been promoted to Principal Research Scientist. This promotion recognizes her exceptional scientific excellence, and significant contributions to the center’s success over the years. We look forward to her continued guidance as we tackle complex challenges in clean energy. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Jeong on this well-deserved milestone!
We kicked off 2026 with a vibrant New Year’s gathering, and it was truly inspiring to see how much our group has expanded.
The team spirit was so high that the celebration officially went through more than three rounds (3차😱) of festivities!
Let’s channel this incredible passion and energy into another year of groundbreaking research. Wishing everyone a prosperous and successful 2026!
We are proud to announce that Dr. Eun-young Kim received the Best Presentation Award (Young Investigator Category) at the 2025 KHNES Fall Conference.
Her award-winning presentation, titled "In-situ Calorimetric Evaluation of Reaction Enthalpies for Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHCs)," was highly praised for its technical excellence and impact.
(While the official recognition was a great honor, Dr. Kim was reportedly even more thrilled by the special prize that came with the award!)
We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Minseok Bae has joined our team as a new staff scientist. Dr. Bae brings a wealth of valuable industrial experience from his previous role at Saudi Aramco.
His initial research will focus on system demonstration and economic feasibility assessment, adding a crucial new dimension to our lab's capabilities.
Please join us in giving him a very warm welcome.
We held a farewell party to our valued members: Euirim On (2022-2025), Seong Mo Yun (2025), Simon Lee (2025), and Najwa Somanjaya (2025).
We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and significant contributions during their time with us. We wish them all the very best in their future endeavors and hope our paths cross again soon.
Our team continued its cherished annual tradition with a picnic and photo session under the beautiful cherry blossoms. We gathered at Miraeyeon to enjoy the lovely weather and capture some great moments together. It was a wonderful opportunity to relax, connect outside of the lab, and celebrate the season as a team.
We are proud to announce that our team has been chosen to lead the prestigious Global Top Research Lab (GTL) project on "Clean Hydrogen Storage and Utilization." funded by National Research Council of Science & Technology (NST) Korea. The project will run until August 2029 with a total budget of 85 billion KRW (61M USD). Our mission is to establish next-generation chemical hydrogen storage and utilization technologies to build a highly efficient and safe hydrogen supply chain.
Here’s a wonderful blast from the past! This photo from our spring cherry blossom gathering in 2019 is the earliest one I could find.
This inspires us to reach out to our valued alumni: if you have any good memories from your time with us, please share them. Your contributions will help us beautifully piece together our shared history.
