**Last updated: 16 August 2026**
HydroFlow ("the app") is published by BG Apps. This policy explains what the app does and does
not do with your information. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
---
## The short version
Everything you log in HydroFlow — your drinks, your goal, your profile, your reminder settings —
is stored **only on your device**. There is no HydroFlow account, no HydroFlow server, and no way
for us to see your hydration data. If you uninstall the app, that data is gone.
The one exception is advertising: HydroFlow shows a banner ad supplied by Google AdMob, and the
Google Mobile Ads SDK collects data for that purpose, as described below.
---
## Information stored on your device
The app stores the following locally, in its own private app storage:
- **Drink log** — the amount, drink type, and date and time of each drink you record.
- **Daily goal** — the goal in force on each day, including any goal you set manually.
- **Profile** — the optional age, weight, biological sex and activity level you enter, used only
to estimate a daily target on the device. All of these fields are optional; the app works
without them.
- **Preferences** — units, theme, quick-add amounts, and your reminder schedule.
- **Achievements** — which achievements you have unlocked.
None of this is transmitted to us. We have no access to it.
If your device has Android backup enabled, Android may include this data in your own
device backup (for example to Google Drive), under your Google account and Google's terms. That
backup is controlled by you and your device settings, not by HydroFlow.
## Information we collect
**None.** BG Apps does not collect, receive, store, or sell any personal information from
HydroFlow users. We do not operate a server that the app talks to.
## Advertising (Google AdMob)
HydroFlow displays a banner advertisement provided by Google AdMob. To serve ads, the Google
Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process data such as your device's advertising identifier,
approximate (coarse) location derived from your IP address, device and app information, and ad
interaction data. This processing is carried out by Google, not by BG Apps, and is governed by
Google's own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy — https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services —
https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
**Your choice.** In regions where it is required (including the EEA, UK and Switzerland),
HydroFlow shows a Google-certified consent message before any ad is requested, and you can change
your answer at any time from **Settings → Ads privacy options** inside the app. You can also reset
or delete your advertising ID in your Android system settings.
HydroFlow does not use advertising data to identify you, and does not share your hydration data
with advertisers. Your drink log is never sent to the ad network.
## Permissions the app requests, and why
| Permission | Why HydroFlow asks for it |
|---|---|
| **Notifications** | To deliver your hydration reminders. Requested only when you turn reminders on. If you decline, the rest of the app works normally; only reminders are silent. |
| **Alarms & reminders** (exact alarms) | To deliver reminders at the time you chose. If you deny it, reminders still arrive — just a few minutes less precisely. Nothing in the app is blocked on this permission. |
| **Run at startup** | To restore your reminder schedule after your device reboots. Without it, reminders would silently stop after every restart. |
| **Vibrate** | To vibrate for a reminder, if you have vibration switched on. |
| **Internet / network state** | Used only to load the banner advertisement and the consent form. Your hydration data is never uploaded. |
HydroFlow does **not** request access to your contacts, photos, files, microphone, camera, or
precise location.
## Children
HydroFlow is a general-audience wellness app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not
knowingly collect personal information from children.
## Health disclaimer
HydroFlow's suggested daily intake is a **general wellness estimate, not medical advice**. It is
based on a simple body-weight heuristic and knows nothing about your climate, medication,
pregnancy, or any kidney, heart or other medical condition. Do not use it to make medical
decisions. If you have a condition that affects fluid balance, follow your clinician's guidance
and use the manual goal setting in the app.
## Deleting your data
You can delete everything the app has stored at any time from **Settings → Data → Delete all my
data**. Uninstalling HydroFlow also removes all of its local data from your device.
## Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "last
updated" date.
