Welcome to the work place of Team 7!
The Study Area: Upper Skawa
The Skawa River, a picturesque mountain waterway, embarks on its journey at an elevation of 700 metres, winding its way through 96 kilometres of diverse terrain and draining a substantial 1160 square kilometres before joining the Vistula River.
Our focus lies specifically on the river's upstream catchment, a region characterized by its mountainous landscape and relatively compact size. The smaller dimensions of this catchment translate to a rapid response time, making it a dynamic and intriguing area for study. Here, heavy and recurrent rainfall is a defining feature, resulting in the frequent occurrence of flash floods. Navigating the complexities of this unique environment poses a significant challenge, one that requires a comprehensive understanding of various events and their behaviors.
