  • Number 1,Couta, Dorado and even Sailfish and smaller Marlin have been caught here. You will get bait here, bottoms and any other gamefish are always hanging around this reef (S29 50.792 E31 06.101).
  • Fontea, Shipwreck sunk by the ORI to create a manmade reef. There are plenty big Tune as well as Kingfish, Queenfish and Dorado are caught more inshore using live bait. There is lots of scattered reef where you can get Snoek and the odd big Couta which are mainly caught in the summer (S29 44.603 E31 05.765).
  • Zinkwazi (Sandys Reef), The water is dirty close to the river mouth but sometimes does clean up a little. This spot can be fruitful for some big Couta and Snoek in the late summer and autumn months ( S29 17.561 E31 27.632).
  • Umdloti, In summer this is the most popular spot for most game fish species with the drop off being a top spot for most summer game fish. Almost all species of fish have been landed here including Marlin, Sailfish and Wahoo. Inshore is a good spot for Natal Snoek ( S29 40.098 E31 08.071).
  • The Barge, 27 metres of water. Has good baitfish, also provides good bottom fish and is a great spot for gamefish. Come on the inside for Natal Snoek (S 29 44 602, E 31 05 751).
  • Seabell Drop Off, The drop off at La Mercy is a great spot where the local guys fish. The reef is close to the shore produces lots of Snoek and Couta (S29 37.901 E31 09.132).
  • Westbrook beach (Stud Rock), This reef is south of the main beach. The reef which is frequented by shoals of Couta in summer. Inshore there are Natal Snoek a little deeper than the backline (S29 36.270 E31 10.573).
  • Blue Lagoon, Top Spot for Snoek, work the rips from the river mouth, past Shoprite and to the start of Beachwood Golf Club.
  • Balito Bay, This is more of a winter spot which is great for Garrick and Natal Snoek along the backline.
  • Selection Reef, Great spot for Snoek (S29 41.069 E31 06.920).
  • Salt Rock (Tiffanys), This reef is very popular and there is a ledge that Couta and Natal Snoek patrol up and down (S29 30.256 E31 14.733).
  • Tindley Mannor South (Jex Estate), the Umshali River mouth is a great spot for Natal Snoek and Couta and you can fish all the way back to Christmas bay ( S29 24.189 E31 20.216).
  • Tindley Mannor North (Zenten), This spot produces Couta and Tuna ( S29 25.973 E31 18.664).
  • Tindley Mannor North (Loves), This spot produces Couta and Tuna (S29 25.607 E31 18.992 ).
  • Limestone Reef, Close in to shore, a good spot for live bait. Small Couta and Snoek also make this a hunting ground (S29 51.908 E31 03.225).
  • Containers, 22m of water and great spot for bait. 27 meter mark off the Bluff (S2949470 E 31 04 535).
