If you want a dedicated, high-wattage charging solution specifically engineered for JBL speakers and wireless earbuds while cycling, choose Hyacinyh USB Charger Charging; if you need a versatile 2-in-1 adapter to listen to music and charge your smartphone simultaneously on the go, choose Subynanal USB c.
• Hyacinyh USB Charger Charging: Delivers robust 20W fast charging with advanced safety protections for a massive list of JBL audio devices, but it is strictly a charger without audio capabilities.
• Subynanal USB c: Offers a unique dual-function design allowing simultaneous high-speed PD 3.0 charging and lossless 32-bit/384kHz audio playback through a single port, though it lacks data transfer features.
• The Verdict: The Hyacinyh pick is for the audiophile cyclist who owns JBL gear and needs reliable power; the Subynanal pick is for the smartphone user who refuses to pause their playlist while topping up their battery.
This product is built for a very specific audience: the outdoor enthusiast or daily commuter who relies heavily on the JBL ecosystem. If your primary gear includes models like the JBL Charge series, Flip series, Pulse series, or the Endurance Peak line of true wireless earbuds, this cable is not just an accessory; it is a necessity for keeping your ride going. The design philosophy here centers entirely on power delivery and safety rather than versatility in connectivity. With a maximum output of 20 watts, it utilizes advanced fast-charging technology that significantly cuts down the time your device spends plugged in. For someone out on a long trail ride where a dead speaker means no music or lost navigation cues, knowing your gear can be topped off quickly is invaluable.
The engineering behind this unit focuses heavily on protecting your investment. It includes multiple layers of safety protection against over-current, over-voltage, short-circuits, and overheating. These are not marketing fluff points; they are critical features when dealing with lithium-ion batteries in portable speakers that might be subjected to the heat of a summer day or the vibration of a bike saddlebag. Being tested to comply with UL 62368-1 Safety Standard adds a layer of confidence that the power brick won't become a hazard. The cable itself is a flat, flexible Type-C cord measuring 3.9 feet in length, which offers enough slack to reach from a backpack to a mounted phone or speaker without tangling excessively.

Who should skip this? If you are looking for a general-purpose cable that works with Android phones, laptops, or non-JBL accessories, this might feel too specialized. While the description notes compatibility with some other Type-C devices, its core identity is tied to the JBL brand lineup. Furthermore, if you need to charge your phone and listen to music at the same time using wired headphones, this unit cannot do that. It is a single-purpose tool designed to be lightweight and compact (weighing only 0.05 kg), making it easy to toss into a jersey pocket or handlebar bag. It is the perfect companion for the "JBL-first" rider who wants their sound system to never run dry.
In stark contrast, the Subynanal USB c adapter targets a different kind of user: the modern smartphone owner who demands multitasking capability from a single dongle. This isn't just a charging cable; it is a bridge between your digital life and your analog listening experience. Its most defining feature is the ability to handle two distinct tasks simultaneously: delivering power via USB Power Delivery 3.0 and outputting high-fidelity audio through a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. This is a game-changer for anyone who still prefers wired headphones for their zero-latency audio quality but finds their device lacking a traditional headphone port.
The technical specifications here are impressive for such a small form factor. It supports up to 60W of PD charging, which is significantly higher than the Hyacinyh option, ensuring that even power-hungry smartphones can charge rapidly while you are active. Simultaneously, it handles audio transmission at up to 32-bit resolution and 384kHz sampling rates, a specification that far exceeds the typical 24-bit/96kHz found in cheaper adapters. This suggests that for the cyclist who cares about crisp audio clarity during a workout or commute, this adapter preserves the fidelity of the music source. The unit is incredibly portable, weighing just 0.01 kg and measuring roughly 13 cm in length, making it nearly invisible when stored in a pocket or clipped to a belt loop.
However, this product comes with a significant trade-off: it does not support data transfer. You can listen and charge, but you cannot sync files or connect to a computer for diagnostics through this adapter. Additionally, while it claims wide compatibility across iPhone 15/16/17 series, Samsung Galaxy S20-S24 lines, and various Pixel and Huawei models, users must ensure their specific phone model supports CTIA or OMTP standards for optimal performance. Volume control is supported, and calls can be taken directly through the wired headphones, but Apple-specific inline controls may have limitations. This is the ideal choice for the rider who uses a smartphone as their primary media player and refuses to compromise on either battery life or audio quality.
• Best for JBL Speaker Owners → Hyacinyh USB Charger Charging. If your cycling setup revolves around a JBL Charge, Flip, or Pulse speaker, this is the only logical choice. The 20W output is optimized for these specific devices, and the safety features protect your expensive audio gear.
• Best for Simultaneous Audio and Charging → Subynanal USB c. If your goal is to keep your phone charged while listening to a podcast or music track through wired earphones, this is the only option that performs both functions at once.
• Best for High-Speed Charging Power → Subynanal USB c. With a 60W PD 3.0 rating, this adapter delivers more raw power than the 20W Hyacinyh charger, making it superior for rapidly filling large smartphone batteries.
• Best for Audio Fidelity → Subynanal USB c. The support for 32-bit/384kHz audio output ensures a higher quality listening experience compared to standard charging-only cables.
• Best for Safety Assurance → Hyacinyh USB Charger Charging. The explicit mention of UL 62368-1 compliance and specific protections against overheating makes it a safer bet for continuous use with portable speakers in varying temperatures.
• Best for Data Transfer → Neither. Both products are focused on power and audio; neither supports data transfer, so this is a shared limitation.
• Best for Portability → Tie. Both are extremely lightweight, but the Subynanal is slightly smaller and lighter, fitting easier into tight spaces.
• Best for Cycling Specifics → Context Dependent. For a rider carrying a separate speaker, Hyacinyh is better. For a rider using the phone as the source and wired buds, Subynanal is better.
For my own setup, particularly when I am out on the road for extended rides, I would choose the Hyacinyh USB Charger Charging. The reason is simple: reliability and purpose. As a cyclist, my priority is often having a dedicated, powerful sound system that doesn't fail me. The fact that this charger is specifically engineered for the JBL ecosystem, which is a favorite among riders for its durability and bass response, gives me peace of mind. The 20W fast charging is sufficient for my speakers, and the safety certifications mean I don't have to worry about damaging my equipment during a long day out. While the Subynanal adapter is clever, I prefer to keep my audio and charging solutions separate to avoid the potential complexity of managing a multi-function dongle while riding. However, if I were relying solely on my smartphone and wired earphones, the Subynanal would be the winner. Ultimately, for the specific use case of powering a dedicated cycling speaker, the Hyacinyh is the more robust and trustworthy tool.
Yes, it supports any device with a USB Type-C input, including certain iPhones and other brands, but it is optimized specifically for the JBL lineup mentioned in its specs.
No, the Subynanal USB c adapter is designed strictly for audio playback and charging; it does not support data transfer functionality.
The Subynanal USB c adapter supports up to 60W PD 3.0 charging, which is significantly faster than the 20W maximum output provided by the Hyacinyh charger.
It supports most USB C devices and standard 3.5mm headphones, including volume control and calling features, though inline controls may vary depending on the headphone manufacturer.
