This workshop aims to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and data-driven techniques in modern astrophysics by introducing undergraduate and postgraduate students to the observational and computational tools used in Electromagnetic (EM) and Gravitational Wave (GW) astronomy.
The program will train participants in the analysis of astronomical and astrophysical data, with hands-on exposure to EM and GW datasets as well as optical survey data. It will also introduce simulation tools and Python-based analysis libraries, equipping students with practical skills for data-driven research. Through this training, the workshop seeks to stimulate interest in research careers in astronomy and astrophysics.
Participants will gain foundational experience in analysing real astronomical data and be exposed to current open problems in multi-messenger astrophysics.
Target Audience: Highly motivated BSc (third and fourth year), MSc physics, and first-year PhD students in physics/astronomy/astrophysics.
