MISSION
Established in December of 2023, the mission of this coalition is to foster a safe, healthy, resilient & peaceful Long Island region by uniting diverse stakeholders, driven by compassion & inclusivity. Long Island, grapples with the effects of violence that reverberate on both local and global scales. From the emotional trauma to the financial strain, injury, and loss of life, we face multifaceted challenges that require concerted efforts.
Unlike compact areas like New York City, Long Island's expansive geography and pockets of segregation present unique structural obstacles to organizing and accessing resources. This body recognizes these barriers, and chooses to bridge divides, mobilize resources, and foster collaboration to confront and mitigate the impact of violence in our communities.
