There are historic buildings throughout the area, as example can be mentioned the church in Saint André which was built in the 1100s.
Perpignan has a cathedral and a fortress that are worth seeing. Also a large Fort de Salses just north of Perpignan.
Collioure with great restaurants, narrow streets and interesting shops. Here there is an old royal fortress and a nice starting point for walking to the old mill and Fort Saint Elme or following the coastline.
Along the coast there are countless places to swim and sunbathe. In Argelès (15 minutes away) there is a 5 km long beach and between Argelès and Spain you will find everything from large places with lots of facilities to small bays where you can be completely alone. Otherwise, Saint André has its own Pentanque (boules) course and not far to several golf courses and here golf is played all year round.
