Biography. I am a Senior Lecturer (Tenured) in Computer Science at the School of Computing Technologies (SCT), RMIT University, Australia, having joined SCT at the end of 2020. I served as a Program Manager for the Bachelor of Computer Science at SCT, RMIT from 2023 to 2025. Previously, I worked at the Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute (A2I2), Deakin University, Australia, from 2018 to 2020. I received my PhD from the University of Newcastle, Australia, in 2017.

Research Interests. I have been doing research in both Machine Learning and Software Engineering, focusing on the following topics:

• Bayesian Optimization (Automated Machine Learning);

• Applied Large Language Models;

• Intelligent Incident Management of Software Systems;

• Intelligent Quality Prediction and Optimization for Software Systems.

• Jun 2025: I was recognized as an outstanding reviewer at KDD 2025 (Research Track - Feb Cycle)!

• May 2025: We (Son Dao, Hiep Pham, Huy Truong, Ke Wang, Hung Pham, Arthur Tang, Stanley Luong, and myself) were awarded a Boundary Crosser grant worth 50k AUD to work on a project titled A Low-Cost AI Wearable for Vision Impaired Assistance in Dynamic Urban Environments!

• May 2025: Welcome Thuan to the team! Thuan will do a PhD in Computer Science, focusing on Solving Mathematical Problems with LLMs, under the supervision of myself, Dr. Hung Pham Viet, Dr. Son Dao, and Dr. Hiep Tran!

• Apr 2025: Welcome Thanh to the team! Thanh will do a PhD in Computer Science, focusing on Fraud Detection for Blockchain Networks, under the supervision of Dr. Son Hoang Dau, Dr. Jeff Nijsse, and myself!

• Jan 2025: I was awarded the OpenAI Researcher Access grant, which provides me with 10,000 USD credits to use GPT-4 for my research!
