The warm weather is finally upon us and our club as well as everyone else has welcomed spring with open arms. Our club has been busy in the final months of winter and the early weeks of spring. In the last article I promised updates about Horsebowl so here they are! Over the span of about 2 months, the girls participating in Horsebowl whether it was practices or the actual event, worked tirelessly to learn all the topics and information they needed to know. We covered topics like evolution and genetics and practiced a lot with the buzzers. The girls also participated in a scavenger hunt at Horsemans Outlet. We attended the state event on February 21st. Our senior participants were Abby and Julia. Our junior participants on Team A were Bri, Devyn, Skylar, and Hope. Team B consisted of Ashlynn, Ayla, Belle, and Mia (me). After more than five long excruciating hours, the bracket was complete and ribbons were handed out. Team A junior placed 3rd and Team B junior placed 1st! A bunch of our girls also placed individually as well! Bri received 8th, Ashlynn received 4th place, Skylar received a 3rd place ribbon, and Ayla received a 2nd place ribbon and a reserved champion ribbon. Now that Horsebowl is over, Hippology and Horse judging practices have started and will continue until April 16th. On February 27th, Hope, Ashlynn, and Ayla went and decorated the bulletin board for the month of March. It was an amazing design and was so colorful and creative! Recently Malavasi Farm welcomed a new member. A healthy filly named Cricket! Nadia, Ashlynn, Devyn, Bri, Belle, Julia, and Abby all went to meet her. We also had our first record book party that day. Thank you Liz for keeping Tilly at your farm during her pregnancy and letting us come over and meet Cricket! To start off the month of March, the State Equine Art Contest took place on the 14th. The participants from our club were Skylar and Bri. Both of the girls submitted either beautiful photos or beautiful artwork. Great job Skylar and Bri! On March 27th, we had a cake decorating contest that was attended by Bri and Nadia. Just the next day, Belle received an honorable mention in the State 4H Animal Science Vido Contest. Great work Belle! It has been an eventful past few months filled with lots of excitement and accomplishments. We can’t wait for what the next few months hold including the Hippology and Horse Judging event, county presentations, and a variety of clinics! In my next article I will have updates on all the events coming up!

In Creative Kids, we have been very busy with crafts and fun activities. In February, we got to do a workshop at Mr. Pops candy shop on Main Street in Flemington. We made chocolate covered marshmallows, chocolate covered graham crackers and chocolate covered Oreos. It was very fun and tasty. In March we made 7 fairy houses to add to the new Fairy Trail at Tuccamirgan Park in Flemington. We will be there this Saturday the 11th at 3:00 to place our fairy houses and check out the new park they have there. Come see them for yourself sometime! Two of our members joined the Youth Council Wreath making workshop. They had fun. A few of our members will be at the Earth Day Celebration April 18 painting planters and planting seeds. At our next meeting we will be making Psanky eggs. They are hollowed out eggs that you decorate and can keep forever. Our club is planning on attending and having a craft table at the Kidchella Festival at Chirp Workshop on June 28 from 12-4 if you would like to come out and see us and have some fun! We will be back in July with more fun Creative Kids news.

I just wanted to tell everyone that we have such a great turn out this year!
The Hunterdon Deadeyes have been crazy busy with meetings and a bit of trainings for all old and new members. We had a few early presentations that we did which turned out amazing. We had our club meet on January 22nd, that was a lot of fun!
On March 15th we had a club shoot at the range which was another great turnout. We have a lot of things coming up that I know we are all looking forward to. Our Presentations were done On March 22nd, and I could not tell you that they were all incredible for all new and old members.
We have a meeting coming up on March 27th about future events that we will go over. These future events include Shotgun, Air rifle, and Archery.

The Hunterdon County Fur 'n Feathers Club has had a busy spring season. Members interested in cavies and rabbits have been learning about anatomy and showmanship, while poultry members have been studying breed standards and how to choose the best birds for competition.
For Valentine's Day, club members got together with the Dairy Club and made cards for residents of Independence Manor and Courtyard Luxury Senior Living. The residents enjoyed receiving their Valentines.
In March, Mrs. Maso led a record book session to help everyone get organized for the fair. Members also honed their crafting skills in March. A large group of members and parents met at the Hunterdon County
Library to learn how to crochet stuffed animal chickens which will be used as a fundraiser for the club. Everyone did great and are continuing to practice their crochet skills.
On March 28, several members attended the NJ State Animal Science Symposium at Rutgers.
Members have also been preparing for the NJ State Avian Bowl by meeting in small study groups and quizzing each other.
Fur 'n Feathers members are looking forward to a fun-filled time as we continue to prepare for the fair and upcoming community events.

The Kick Butt Kids had a lot of fun over the past few months. In February we got to see a goat necropsy and got to hold and see the parts of the goat. Dr Wilson also came and helped set up first aid kits for us to take home. On March 21 we did our club presentations. There were a lot of amazing presentations that the club got to see. Many of our club members also went to the Animal Symposium on March 28. We are looking forward to the Earth Day Celebration, our fundraiser at Tractor Supply on May 2, the Spring Run Dairy Open House on June 6, and Community Day on June 13.

In February we worked with Fur and Feathers to make Valentine cards for distribution to Senior Centers. We started our Club Presentations and in March, some of our members attended Dairy Bowl and the Symposium. Some of our members are preparing for Public Presentations in April. We are happy to see Spring is here. It was a very cold winter and we are now excited to start working with our project animal. We worked on starting our project books and preparing for our Lease paper.
