My boyfriend is a hunter and only wears Richardson hats so this was a perfect Christmas gift! I had to give it to him early because I was so excited about my find and he absolutely loved it. I ended up buying another hat and a shirt for his brother who also hunts. Even had a hand written thank you! Support your local businesses this holiday :)

The online course, alone, is NOT a qualification for a hunter education certificate. Once you have completed an online course, you will still need to attend a 4-hour follow up class with a certified Hunter Education Instructor. Access is permitted to the 4-hour follow-up class only after a student has completed the written Home Study or Online component of the class.

Cost: $10. Available wherever hunting licenses are sold. Allows hunters age 17 or older to defer completion of hunter education for up to a year, as long as the person is accompanied* by a hunter who has: 1) completed hunter education, or 2) is exempt from the requirement (born before September 2, 1971). A Deferral may only be obtained once and is only valid until the end of the license year purchased. A hunter who has been convicted of or received deferred adjudication for violating the mandatory hunter education requirement may not apply for a deferral.

The hunter education deferral program allows a one-year, once-in-a-lifetime deferral of hunter education training for individuals new to hunting who are accompanied by an experienced hunter. The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission adopted rules (WAC 220-412-020) to implement the program.

Please note that if either the deferred hunter or the accompanying hunter is convicted of a hunting violation under the deferral program, the department may revoke all hunting licenses and tags and order a suspension of one or both the deferred hunter and the accompanying hunter's hunting privileges for one year.

If you completed Hunter Education in another state or country and are now a Utah resident, you must transfer your out-of-state hunter education certification to a Utah certificate before applying for hunting licenses and permits as a Utah resident.

This course is not required to obtain a bowhunting permit in Utah. This is a comprehensive course for a national bowhunter certification that is required to bowhunt in Idaho, Montana, Alaska and several other states.

We encourage every hunter to take a hunter education course. However, if you were born on or after September 1, 1969, you must satisfactorily complete an LDWF-approved hunter education course and receive Hunter Education Certification prior to hunting in Louisiana, unless you are under direct supervision of a qualified person. (A qualified person is a Louisiana licensed hunter born before September 1, 1969, or a person 18 years of age or older who has a valid unrestricted Louisiana hunting license or proof of Hunter Education Certification. Direct supervision means the person being supervised is within normal audible voice contact and in direct line of sight of the supervising person at all times while hunting.)

Bowhunter education is not mandatory in Louisiana. However, LDWF offers a bowhunter education course to provide bowhunters with safety and skills training. Most classes require advance registration. View upcoming courses and register online.

The NYS Bowhunter Education course is required for hunters who use a bow and arrow to hunt deer or bear. While this course is not required for hunting deer with a crossbow, or for using a bow and arrow to hunt small game or turkey, DEC encourages you to take this course to learn bow and tree stand safety techniques.

The Today's Bowhunter Manual and Bowhunter Education Homework Worksheet can be picked up at most DEC Wildlife offices or may be available for pickup at other locations as specified in the instructions given when you register for a course.

Students must complete required homework, attend all sessions of the course, demonstrate proper attitude and safety, and pass a final exam of 40 questions. After successful completion of the course, students will receive a Bowhunter Education Certificate of Qualification, which is required in addition to a hunting license or hunter education certificate for purchasing a first-time bowhunting privilege in New York State.

You can view all of the HWTs using the free Google Earth application (Google Chrome is required to run the new Google Earth). Download the Hunter Walking Trail file and save it to your device. Then launch Google Earth, click on My Places, enable importing, and import the HWT KML file that you just downloaded. All Minnesota's hunter walking trails will appear in the application.

Since Hunter Walking Trails fall on multiple public land ownerships, hunters need to be aware that the rules and regulations may vary for the specific trail locations and even trail segments they are visiting. For example, camping at a HWT trailhead that falls on a Wildlife Management Area is NOT allowed but if that trailhead is under different ownership camping may be allowed. Hunters should be mindful not to block access to Hunter Waking Trails for other hunters while camping or parking, where allowed.

RANGE DAY: This training is for those who have completed the classroom session of the hunter education course via alternative means (internet or CD-Rom). All materials, including firearms and ammunition, are provided at NO CHARGE. Click to see the Kentucky Hunter Education Range Day Course list and Registration.

Students may self-study through the hunter education course by completing one of the internet options below. In order to fully complete the certification requirements, once the student completes the online course, they must pre-register and attend a RANGE DAY where they will participate in a live fire exercise.

The temporary hunter education exemption permit allows a person to hunt for one year without first completing a hunter education course. The permit will be available online for free (for a limited time) and is available to both Kentucky residents and nonresidents.

Becoming certified as a Hunter Education Instructor is a great way to insure the continuation of Kentucky's hunting tradition. Every year over 15,000 Kentucky citizens learn how to be a safe and ethical hunter by participating in a Kentucky Hunter Education Course or Range Day.
