started with this gorgeous girl right here! Her name is Juniper, and her species is Eublepharis macularius (also known as the leopard gecko)! I, like many people who find themselves with a pet reptile, wasn't always sure if I was doing the best I possibly could for her. There is a lot of conflicting information online on what heat source and lighting to use, what substrate is best, and, arguably one of the most confusing, what to feed! I quickly found out that the answer to most of these questions was to look to nature for help! The habitats these incredible animals come from reveal the answers to what their enrichment should look like, what substrate they need, how much humidity they should have, and what they should be eating! I knew I wanted to help others in their journey to improve their captive herp's welfare.
