Hunar is a skill-sharing and learning community platform where users in Tajikistan and beyond can teach, learn, and showcase traditional and modern crafts, professional skills, cooking, music, languages, and more through photos, videos, and text.
We respect your privacy. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
Account information: phone number or email, name/username, profile photo, bio, and the skills you teach or want to learn.
Content you create: photos and videos of your projects, tutorials, workshops, or crafts you upload.
Messages you send to other users or instructors.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device info: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address.
Usage data: which lessons you view, which instructors you follow, search terms, and how you interact with the app.
Location (optional): approximate location from IP address or precise location only if you allow it (used to show nearby workshops or teachers).
1.3 Photos & Media You Choose
When you set a profile picture or upload content showing your work:
You can take a new photo with the camera → we only access the camera when you tap “Take Photo”.
Or choose an existing photo/video from your gallery → we only access your photo library when you tap “Choose from Gallery”. Example: A woodworking teacher takes a photo of a finished chair using the in-app camera and uploads it to their lesson. A cooking instructor selects a saved video from their gallery to add to a recipe tutorial.
To let you create and manage your profile and showcase your skills.
To help students discover teachers and workshops near them or online.
To show you personalized recommendations (e.g., “Popular cooking classes in Dushanbe”).
To send important notifications (new messages, booking confirmations, lesson reminders).
To improve the app and fix bugs.
Camera
Purpose: To let you take new photos or short videos of your craft, cooking, artwork, or teaching moments directly inside the app and add them to your profile or lessons.
Example: You press “Take Photo” while creating a lesson about embroidery and capture your work in real time.
Photo Library / Gallery
Purpose: To let you select existing photos or videos from your device to use as your profile picture or to upload to your lessons and portfolio.
Example: You choose a high-quality photo of a handmade tajik hat from your gallery to set as your profile picture.
Storage (Android)
Purpose: To save photos, videos, and lesson materials you download for offline use.
Internet & Network State
Required for all online features (uploading content, messaging, browsing lessons, etc.).
Your photos, videos, and profile are stored securely on servers in the European Union with encryption.
Content is kept as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal content is permanently removed within 30 days.
We never access your entire photo library – only the single photo/video you explicitly select.
We do not sell your personal information.
We only share data with:
Other Hunar users who can see your public profile and lessons.
Trusted service providers (cloud storage, analytics, push notifications) under strict contracts.
Law enforcement when required by Tajik or international law.
You can at any time:
View, edit, or delete your profile and all uploaded content.
Download a copy of your data.
Delete your entire account (this removes everything permanently).
Turn off location or notification permissions.
Hunar is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
We will notify you inside the app and by email before any material changes take effect.
