The HUMSS Portfolio Defense is a dynamic and engaging activity where students in the Humanities and Social Sciences strand present their individual topics in their chosen subject area. This 3-minute presentation provides a platform for HUMSS students to showcase their knowledge, skills, and understanding throughout the course. A panel of three experienced educators, alumni or alumnae from the HUMSS field act as observers and evaluators during the defense. The Portfolio Defense serves as a valuable learning experience for HUMSS students as they gain confidence in their public speaking abilities and refine their presentation skills.

The HUMSS Revalida is a culminating activity designed to comprehensively assess the knowledge and skills acquired by HUMSS students throughout their learning journey. This activity tests their understanding of all eight major subjects studied within the HUMSS strand. The Revalida draws upon the students' capstone entries, which are comprehensive answer sheets that reflects their learning in each of the eight major subjects. These entries serve as the basis for the panel's questions. A panel of experienced HUMSS educators and professionals will conduct the Revalida. Each panel member will focus on three specific subjects, drawing upon their expertise to pose challenging and insightful questions. The Revalida goes beyond memorization. Students are expected to demonstrate their ability to apply their knowledge, analyze complex concepts, and articulate their understanding in a clear and concise manner. It provides a comprehensive assessment of the students' learning across all major subjects. It is a proof to the commitment of HUMSS students to academic excellence and their dedication to mastering the various subjects within the HUMSS strand. It is a rewarding experience that prepares them for future academic and professional venture.
REVALIDA PANELISTS
Our Revalida panelists were carefully chosen by BEST from among the recommendations. They are experts on the subjects assigned to them . Their role is to validate our understanding of the various disciplines in the HUMSS' specialized subjects. Each of us will go through different panelists and will answer multiple questions. After each is done, the panelists will highlight the competencies which some students have yet to acquire, as well as give commendations for the learners who have demonstrated exemplary performance.
