Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a farming model that involves a direct partnership between consumers and local farmers. In a CSA, individuals or families become members of a farm by purchasing a share of the farm's harvest in advance. In return, members receive a regular supply of fresh, locally grown garlic throughout the season. Learn More Here (Showtiss Farms)
The CSA member's investment before the beginning of the season directly supports the farm by providing much-needed capital for the anticipated costs of seeds, supplies, etc. at a time when the farm needs it most. By signing up for a share of the seasons harvest, the potential bounty and the potential risk, which are an inherent part of farming, are shared with the farmers and CSA members.

Green garlic is immature garlic, sometimes called baby garlic or young garlic, before it has formed it's bulb. Instead of using the cloves of the bulb, the entire stalk is harvested in early spring. You can use green garlic just like how you use a green onion or scallion. The flavor is more subtle and has more of a garlic fragrance. Learn More Here (Easy Gourmet Jackie)
Garlic scapes are the edible flower buds and stems of the garlic plant. They are long, curly, and green, and taste like a combination of garlic, scallion, and onion. Scapes have a short window to be enjoyed in the spring. Learn More Here (Hyosun - Korean Bapsang)
