Our Vision for the Day
Guided by our belief that conversation is a signature Humanities practice, we want the day to be marked by broad, passionate, and active participation. To that end, our opening and closing plenaries will both be interactive and designed as a sort of “through line” that can connect us and inspire reflection during and after the conference.
Our opening plenary—“Conversation Café”—will function as a guided conversation intended to introduce participants to one another and enable collaborative exploration of some of the questions that animate teaching in the Humanities.
Our closing plenary—“Looking Ahead with the Humanities Pedagogy Collective”—will provide time for us to consider the “takeaways” from the conference: What can we bring back to our own pedagogies? How can we remain connected? What should be next for the Collective?
We hope that you can join us for both plenaries and think they can help make our day exemplify the sort of active engagement that make the Humanities so exciting.
