Research

In our research we investigate how human echolocation works, how it may benefit people with VI, and we also use echolocation as a paradigm to study brain plasticity. For example, training people in echolocation and measuring their behaviour, brain activity and structure, we can investigate how the brain adapts to learning new skills, and how this is affected by a person's age and their sensory experience (e.g. blindness).
