The workshop will address major challenges concerning different forms of human-robot companionship (HRC) in key healthcare and wellness applications, focusing also on the social implications at large, from ethical concerns to impact on social models.
The workshop will provide an opportunity for young researchers (PhD students, post-docs, early career researchers, etc.) to present their research in a stimulating and open environment, and to discuss their ideas with selected speakers and colleagues. We invite different kinds of engineers, biomedical engineers, bio-medical roboticists, social scientists and philosophers to contribute to our workshop.
Philosophical, ethical and social implications of health care robotics:
-Human-robot companionship
-Autonomous assistive robotics
-Elderly care robotics
-Social robots
-Human-Machine integration (Cyborg)
-Motor and Neural Prostheses
-Wereable devices
-Treatment/Enhancement distinction
-Ability/disability distinction
