Human News Rewriter rewrites article text on the current webpage when the user clicks the Rewrite button.
Data processed
The extension may process the following data:
- Website content: article text from the current webpage.
How the extension uses data
The extension uses website content only to identify and rewrite article text on the current webpage.
When the user clicks Rewrite, the article text is sent to OpenAI’s API using the user’s own OpenAI API key. OpenAI returns rewritten text, which is then applied to the webpage in the user’s browser.
The extension stores the user’s OpenAI API key and settings locally using Chrome storage. The API key is used only to make requests to OpenAI’s API.
What the developer collects
The developer does not collect, store, sell, or share article text, rewritten text, OpenAI API keys, browsing history, personal information, or usage analytics.
Data sharing
Article text is sent to OpenAI only when the user clicks Rewrite. This transfer is required for the extension’s single purpose: rewriting article text.
The extension does not send data to any server owned by the developer.
User control
Users can remove their OpenAI API key from the extension settings at any time. Users can also uninstall the extension to remove locally stored extension data.
