# HueLog Privacy Policy

HueLog is a personal diary app that lets you record your emotions and the flow of your day as colors. This document explains what data HueLog processes and the choices you have.
## 1. Information We Process
To provide the app's features, HueLog may store the following on your device:
- Mood color records
- The date and time of each record
- The one-line memo you enter
- Custom state names per color
- App display language
- Notification settings
- PIN app-lock settings
- Premium subscription status
- Auto-backup folder selection
## 2. Where Data Is Stored
Mood records and color state names are stored by default in a local database on your device. HueLog does not send your mood records, memos, or PIN to any server operated by us.
When you actively use the export or import feature, files may be passed to the sharing target or document-picker app that you choose.
If you turn on Premium automatic backup (folder), HueLog saves a JSON backup file to a folder that you select through the Android document picker. If you choose a Google Drive folder, that file may be synced through the Google Drive app/service. In this case HueLog does not access the Google Drive API directly.
If you turn on Premium **Google account backup**, then—with your explicit consent (Google sign-in)—HueLog uploads a JSON backup of your mood records to your Google Drive **app data folder (appDataFolder)** using the `drive.appdata` scope. The appDataFolder is a private, app-only area that is not visible to you in Drive, and HueLog cannot access your other Drive files with this permission. This feature is off by default and can be turned off at any time. The uploaded backup is stored in your Google account and is used only to restore your data after reinstalling the app or clearing its data, when you sign in with the same account.
## 3. Ads and Payments
Free users may see Google AdMob banner ads. In the course of serving ads, Google may process advertising-related information such as an advertising identifier.
Premium subscription payments are handled through Google Play's billing system. HueLog does not directly collect or store raw payment details such as card numbers.
## 4. Notifications
If you enable notifications, HueLog uses device notifications to gently prompt you to record your mood. On Android 13 and later, your notification permission is required.
## 5. App Lock
If you use the PIN app lock, HueLog does not store the raw PIN; it stores only a hash in local settings. If you forget your PIN, clearing the app data may be required.
## 6. Third-Party Services
HueLog may use the following third-party services:
- Google Play Billing: in-app subscription payments
- Google AdMob: displaying ads
- Google Sign-In / Google Drive (appDataFolder): optional Google account backup and restore
- Android document picker / share: exporting and importing files you choose
- Android document picker: saving automatic backups to a folder you choose
Data handling by each service is governed by that provider's own policy.
## 7. Your Choices
Within the app you can:
- Add, edit, and delete mood records
- Choose whether to use per-color state names
- Choose whether to use notifications
- Export to JSON/CSV
- Import a JSON backup
- Choose whether to use Premium automatic backup and the backup folder
- Choose whether to use Premium Google account backup
- Choose whether to use the PIN app lock
- Choose whether to subscribe to Premium
You can delete local data by uninstalling the app or by clearing the app data in Android settings.
## 8. Medical Disclaimer
HueLog is not a medical, diagnostic, treatment, or counseling service. Its records are reference material to support your personal reflection.
